Q: 1. I'm getting sagging wrinkles in mine. It's hanging from an Impact wall mounting kit but weather I'm hanging just enough so it's not touching the floor, or pulled all the way out so it's covering the floor and wall, I still get sagging wrinkles. Fortunately these aren't showing up in the photos as I'm blowing out the background, but they definitely would show up if I weren't. I tried clamping the edges to a C-stand to pull it taught and that helped a bit but it would have taken several clamps to get it fully clean. Am I doing something wrong, or is this normal, or ? Thanks!

A: I use mine only to blow out the background - not gray yet. I have only noticed my crossbar sagging ever so slightly - if I changed the light setup to get gray I don't feel the amt. of sagging would be a problem for me. I can't tell you that you are doing anything wrong - just share what I have done/experienced. My guess is your cross bar is not strong enough. I do use clamps to pull a different colored canvas more tight but not the white vinyl - works-ish but is a pain (I feel your pain). I use the photoflex background holder and keep it as close to 9' wide as possible (9' + couple inches. This crossbar system isn't perfect for other reasons, but what is, right?) I did see a photo of a photogs setup where he used a length of wood as his crossbar held up by 2 stands - no sagging at all. I also wonder if your stands are a lot more than 9' apart causing more sag. I have left mine on the cardboard core. One last thought: If mine did sag and that showed in the resulting photos I'd be tempted to put an extra stand in the middle, behind the background to hikeup the center just a touch . . . maybe with a speedlight foot on the top as not to damage the roll . . . does any of this help? I love this backdrop -- all the best!

Q: 2. Is this 8'x20' White Savage Infinity Vinyl Background exactly the same as the 9'x20' White Savage Infinity Vinyl Background - except for the size?

A: Yes the material is the same between both sizes mentioned on the Savage Infinity Vinyl Background in white.

Q: 3. Interested if this would work as a floor in a shoot? We shoot dance photos and presently tape a 10x20 cloth background on the floor with a carpet pad underneath, and hang a 10x20 cloth background. Inevitably the black cloth on the floor picks up dust and footprints and we're looking for a vinyl that would be easier to sweep/mop quickly between shots. It would need to lie flat, we would tape the edges with gaffers tape. Interested in your opinion! Thanks!

A: I have 2 of these vinyl backgrounds and it has been used as flooring. It does lay flat and I didn't need to tape it down. I recommend putting it on a flat floor though, it works better that way. Putting a vinyl on a carpet will tend to create sinking spots, not recommended for photography. We had a videographer record a Michael Jackson impersonator dancing on it. This picks up dust as well, but a whole lot easier to clean. Hope this helps.

Q: 4. Will this work for a cake smash where I want this to be a backdrop and floordrop?

A: Yes this can work for application as you can easily clean it with soap and water.

Q: 5. Is the dimensions 5' across the bar and 12' hanging ?

A: Yes that's right

Q: 6. In the featured image, you can see the texture of the vinyl. How far does the subject need to be away so that it just looks completely smooth in the background? I understand this will vary based on things like f-stop etc.

A: Position your subject around 6' in front of the background

Q: 7. can we take it to diverse locations_?

A: As far as I'm concerned, yes. It's a little heavy, but rolled up and back in its shipping tube, it fits in an average car with one end in the front footwell and the rest leaning toward the back of the car. Does not get in my way when driving. FYI, this is my third vinyl ground. I use it on flat surface for shooting museum needlework. I did not understand that the surface could scratch (a bit like a record) which eventually led me to purchasing #2. And the third one I take with me for shoots not in the museum where I usually work (and have vinyl ground #2 stored.). I use distilled water and a clean rag to clean. LOVE this product.

Q: 8. Does it make sense to use a rental studio when clients are trying to save on paper backgrounds?

A: Depends on application. Attempting to shoot high-key can be difficult as the vinyl is quick to produce specular highlights.

Q: 9. Best economical way to temporarily hang a wall? Velcro? hooks in drywall? thanks!

A: My DIY material background hanging system consists of eye bolt screwed into opposite walls using wall anchors. I then string two strands of picture hanging wire; starting with one bolt, looping through the other, and then back to the first and securing. I use the binder clips (medium or large) - the things that are used to clip a stack of papers together. I place the clip over the wire and clip the background ever 6 - 8 . I have 2 or 3 backgrounds on each wire. I simply slide the background that I want to use into position. I have 3 wires to hold all my material backgrounds. They remain wrinkle free; very easy to change. I also installed stretchers (adjustable Velcro with alligator clips) on both walls - just thumb tacked - to make the material taught.

Q: 10. I would like to use this as a flooring for a shoot. I'm specifically looking for it to be reflective. Would that only be achieved using the glossy side? I saw in previous comments that it would cause a lot of hot spots. Is the matte side reflective at all?

A: Since this Infinity Vinyl Background is white, it would be reflective on both sides.
