The DJI Zenmuse X5S with MFT 15mm/1.7 ASPH Lens features a Micro Four Thirds sensor and a dynamic range of 12.8 stops with a much-improved signal-to-noise ratio and color sensitivity than the X5R. Included here are the gimbal, camera, and 15mm lens.

The new CineCore 2.0 image processing system on the Inspire 2 makes the Zenmuse X5S capable of capturing 5.2K30 CinemaDNG video and Apple ProRes video, as well as 4K60 using H.264 and 4K30 in H.265 (both at 100 Mb/s). Continuous DNG burst shooting at 20 fps with 20.8MP images is also supported. The Zenmuse X5S was designed to keep pace with the rigors of high-end professional aerial imaging.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can we use this camera Zenmuse X5S on the Osmo+ handle instead of the zenmuse x3 zoom?

A: I am afraid not. The Zenmuse X5S was designed to keep pace with the rigors of high-end professional aerial imaging.

Q: 2. Is the Zenmuse X5S compatible with the Inspire 1 Pro v2.0?

A: No, the X5s is not compatible with the Inspire 1. You would need the X5, X5R, or X3for normal video capabilities.

Q: 3. Is the lens body metal or plastic?

A: The following lens caps are made of plastic.

Q: 4. Is this just a weighted ring or does it have glass which covers the lens? I’m assuming it screws onto the front of the 12mm lens to balance a “rear-heavy” camera setup. The answers to the previous question were not very clear.

A: This is a weighted ring and not a glass filter.

Q: 5. hi there, is it possible to mount the lens hood of the 15mm summilux in a 25mm summilux?

A: No you can't But even if it were possible, why would you want to mount the small hood of the 15mmonto the 25mm? The hood on the 25mm is very deep and provides excellent protection from flare. The15mm is a much thinner hood and would never provide this kind of coverage.

Q: 6. is this camera compatible with Osmo or Inspire 1?

A: Hello Rafael. No this camera is not compatible with the Osmo or Inspire 1. Thanks.

Q: 7. Does Panasonic sell the lens hood on its own? I need a replacement.

A: I think I had to buy the hood and ring together but Im sure they do. May have to call.

Q: 8. Will this work on the OSMO Handle? Also can you use the LUMIX 12-32 2.8 lens with this setup?

A: Hello Clinton. The Zenmuse X5S will not work on the Osmo handle. You cannot use the Lumix 12-32 2.8 lens with the Zenmuse X5S. For a list of lenses that you can use with the Zenmuse X5S please see the subheading Array of compatible lenses at https://a href= http://www.dji.com/zenmuse-x5s. target= _blank www.dji.com/zenmuse-x5s./a Thanks.

Q: 9. Will this camera be able to attach to the inspire pro 1?

A: which handle work for these? If thre is specific handle Den wen gonna release?

Q: 10. I receive the inspire 2 with all the kit. But I still waiting for the Care Refresh email. The drone is activated already for more than 48 hrs and still can't activate the care refresh. What can I do ?

A: Please contact DJI customer support for assistance in this. Note that even in a worst case scenario, aircrafts already activated for longer than 48 hours will still be able to be used in conjunction with DJI Care Refresh. DJI CS will have more information about this.

Great lens. Lightweight, aperture ring is a nice addition, focus is fast and accurate. Pictures clear as a bell. Good walk-around lens.

I bought this after buying an LX10 with the f/1.4 lens. I saw that the LX10 could practically take shots in very dimly lit situations. I wanted a comparable lens for my G85 and this is as close as I could get for a decent price. Bought used and it was in perfect condition. Attached are some samples shot during golden hour and after sunset.

Excellent camera, lens, and gimbal. Have only used h.264 codec even so the images are quite nice. Here is a link to some video of the bear mountain bridge i shot with no post color manipulation. https://youtu.be/_vV2VKpMios

This lens is flawless. In addition to its quality, it's refreshing to be able to set the aperture on the lens out ring. Another nice detail is the AF-MF switch. In the few occasion when you want to use manual focus, it's easy to do it with this lens This lens became my main lens, it's very good for everything: landscape, low light and even, yes, portrait.

The lens is very sharp and the autofocus is really fast, faster than the Olympus 17 f1.8 which was already relly fast, probably due to the fact that this lens supports the DfD autofocus on my Panasonic GX80/GX85. I also like for what I typically photograph (travel, cities, ...) that it is somewhat wider than the 17. Size is the same as my Olympus 17 f1.8. So the 15 now replaces my 17 as standard walk-around prime for low-light. Fits also well into my collection (PL 15 f1.7, P 25 f1.7, Sigma 60 f2.8).

This machine performs as advertised. I capture images with the X5S camera and find it to be crisp and clear. The Inspire 2 was purchased because I wanted to offer high calibre video for a promotional shoot. I operate professionally and will use the system for mapping and video production as well as simple aerial photo.
I am comparing this unit with the other multi-copters in my fleet from various manufacturers such as Autel Robotics and YUNEEC.

I use Nikon cameras. Currently my main camera is the 36 MP Nikon D 810. I compare all other cameras to it. The Zenmuse X5S comes close to matching the 810 in overall quality. Since I have used the X5S on my Inspire 2 only I'm not sure that a direct comparison is fair. However, I am very happy so far with the X5S and feel that it is a big improvement in resolution over the very good X5.
