Designed for professional videographers on a limited budget and video hobbyists, the WR-PRO by Azden is a single-channel, camera-mountable VHF receiver with 2 selectable operating frequencies, allowing you to switch between frequencies if one is noisy or experiences interference. The wireless operating range is more than 200 feet. Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this kit be used on Samsung Galaxy 3?

A: I used it on a Galaxy S5 and it worked great. Not sure, but it would probably work with an S3 as well.

Q: 2. How well does this system work with Canon 5D ?

A: This is considered an entry-level, basic wireless microphone system, and should work fairly well depending upon the distance and operating environment. Depending upon your particular project or application you may very happy with its performance for the price/value paid.

Q: 3. Can the microphone system be used with a Panasonic model HC-V180 camera?

A: If the camera has the standard 3.5mm audio input jack, then yes.

Q: 4. how do I mount a WR-Pro wireless receiver on a Sony HDR-CX430V video camera?

A: Unfortunately that camera has a hot shoe on it. So you have nothing on the camera to attach a cold shoe to. But you can circumvent this minor problem with a Vello CB-510 Dual Shoe Bracket. This bracket will screw into the bottom of the camera where you would normally attach the camera to a tripod. Instead you will screw the Vello bracket onto the camera. This device will now give you 2 cold shoe mounts that are part of the bracket and a rubber coated handle that you can now use to hold onto your camera. The Azden receiver should have a shoe that came with it that attaches to the back of the receiver. All you have to do is slide the shoe mount on the receiver onto one of the shoes on the Vello bracket. Then plug the output of the receiver 3.5mm plug into the camera. Here is the B&H part number for the Vello bracket. B&H# VECB510

Q: 5. Can we record a video at the same time as recording the voice?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Can the receiving transmitter be mounted onto a DSLR shoe mount? How (do I need an adapter)?

A: The receiver has a clip-on adapter that mounts on the shoe.

Q: 7. Can this wireless mic system be used with an iPhone 6? If so, do I need a special app on the iPhone or does the sound feed directly into the camera app?

A: The Azden WMS-PRO will require a special cable to use with a smartphone. The Rode SC4 is designed to allow standard mics to connect to the smartphone input jack. a href= http://bhpho.to/1w6S7tG target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1w6S7tG/a This will function with almost any app that is able to record audio.

Q: 8. Does the FCC still allow these frequencies for wireless mics? i understand zsome of the frequencies have been changed fpr wireless microphones.

A: Yes, as of this moment, the PRO Series frequencies (169.445MHz and 170.245MHz) are still allowed for unlicensed use by the FCC. As far as we are aware, the FCC has no plans to make changes to their rules regarding the VHF bands. Both changes in recent years and current plans for future changes mostly affect the UHF bands.

Q: 9. How well does this system work with GoPro?

A: Hello Jonathan. Thank you for your inquiry in regards to the WLX-PRO+i VHF Wireless Lavalier Microphone System. This system is best suited for use with DSLR and mirrorless cameras, as well as mobile devices (using the included TRRS adapter cable). For GoPro filming, you wouldn't need the +i version of this kit, but merely just the regular WLX-PRO. If you still want the flexibility to record video with a mobile device in the future, you can purchase this kit and just omit the adapter cable when filming with GoPro. However, we do recommend our PRO-XD 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Microphone System when choosing to shoot with a GoPro, as that system has a more compact form factor and adjustable gain from the receiver going into your camera. We hope this information helps in your decision and thank you for choosing Azden!

Q: 10. Can I use a 3.5 mm stereo to XLR adapter to use this on a professional camera?

A: Yes you can use something like BH #KOAXMMF for that solution.

Easy to use, audio was great even at a distance of 60', did not use the handheld mic at the wedding but practiced with it and the audio was just as good as the clip on. Even though it was windy it had no effect on the audio

It's pretty good for a consumer level product and was used to record videos with a Sony video camera. Make sure you don't accidentally insert the 9V battery oriented incorrectly (positive/negative).

I wasn't expecting much out of this mic only because most mics are pretty pricey. I was somewhat astonished to hear the quality and how well the wireless part of t worked. No static noises or anything that gives the impression that this is one of the most inexpensive mics with a high quality sound. Love it!

I use this product for simultaneous interpretation (translation), to hear the speaker or floor signal. By miking the speaker directly, leaving the mike on the podium, or even hanging it over a loudspeaker, I get excellent sound. I can even connect the auxiliar output of a sound board to the mike input of the Azden to tap into the house system. It will take a surprisingly high signal level, although for best results I sometimes use a signal-dropping adapter. I use the earphone output on the receiver to hear, although I usually connnect it through a battery-operated headphone amplifier to feed a pair of stereo phones for best level and control. I find the reception absolutely trouble-free, no noise, clicks, or interference. I use the two frequencies simultaneously in adjacent rooms or through a mixer when I need two source mikes. Range is excellent, goes through walls, better than my 72-MHz system used to transmit the interpretation to listeners. Have bought two and am about to buy a third one. No durability problems. Have not tried the cheapaer Sony or AT systems, for fear of not getting the same known performance. Brightness of LED indicates battery status. Have not used the hald-held mike.

We purchased this to record video at a conference. It worked very well. We were able to just hand a person the microphone and record a short clip before moving on to another person. They did not have to hold it close to their mouth. It did pick up both people when they were side to side and holding the mic between them. It mounted to the top of the Canon T2i and we easily switched from the wireless mic to the built-in camera mic and back again.

For a VHF wireless mic this performs very well. The first time i used this equipment i was very impressed. i walked down a concrete stairway and still got noise free reception some 50m from the transmitter at the main door! a great buy for the price and both mics work very well with the product. Great work Azden corporation.

The lav set is good and sounds good. The only negative I have about it is signal level. The output level from the mini jack supplied is a little low. But the workaround it is too simple to pass up the device. I bought a mini jack to male-XLR connector, and plugged it into my marantz pmd 661's XLR input, and my rode NTG2 in the other XLR. Now I have two separately controlled hot inputs from my lav and shotgun. I would get I second one soon.

Purchased this to use with my camcorder to improve sound quality when taping a speech or presentation. I have not been disappointed. It is lightweight, very easy to use and provides clear sound -- a huge improvement over the built-in microphone on the camera. This is not a professional system, but an outstanding value for the money.
