The 15-stop, 100 x 100mm NiSi Nano IRND Filter is an ND filter with a 32,000x filter factor that provides a 15-stop exposure reduction. Its 4.5 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. This NiSi 100 x 100mm Nano IRND 4.5 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity, and measures 2mm thick.

This filter is designed specifically for photography applications. This filter is not suitable for direct solar viewing with the naked eye, including with optical viewfinders.

A: NiSi states that the filters in the NiSi 100 x 100mm Solid Neutral Density Extreme Filter Kit use their IR technology, i.e. the coating that blocks infrared light, and therefore eliminates the risk of magenta color cast.

A: These filters will fit in a matte box that accepts 100mm filters that are 2mm thick.

A: This filter is a 2mm filter. The Tiffen works with 4mm filters. This filter would be at risk of falling out.

A: I'm sorry but this filter does not have foam on the edges.

Q: 9. Would these work on a camera that has been converted for infrared? Mine passes visible light above 590 nm and near infrared light. I do not want to block infrared light any more than visible light.

A: You would need to ask the company that did the IR conversion specifically but Kolari Vision (for example) makes their own IR ND filter so these filters should be fine too.

A: No you can not stack filters on top of this one. I would suggest that this be the last filter of the stack.
