Q: 1. Will this work with line level and mic level signals?

A: Hi Alvin.I have used it very successfully at line level. Works perfectly. However I see no reason why it would not work at mic level. Keep in mind that it is an isolating transformer, so if using microphones requiring phantom power such as condensers/electrets, phantom power being DC, the hum eliminator will block this so you will need to ensure your source of phantom power is fitted to the mic side rather than the mixer/preamp side. So if your phantom power is supplied by the mixer/preamp you will then require a separate phantom power supply. If using dynamic mic's or if otherwise phantom power is not required, this is not an issue and the you will be good to go. Hope this helps. Frank

Q: 2. I just ordered this and it is not working. Trying to eliminate a hum on blue bottle condenser mic. When plugged in I get another frequency hum and no mic signal. Am I doing something wrong or is this thing defective?

A: Being transformer-based, the Sescom IL-19 In-Line Audio Hum Eliminator inherently blocks the 48V phantom power that your condenser mic requires.

A: This Viewer should fit your scope fine, as long as you have a 1.25 eyepiece opening. You might have some focusing issues, which you might need to get 2X Barlow Eyepieces. I would try the piece out first, then if you have any focusing issues get the Barlow Eyepieces.

Q: 5. Just ordered one. It's not working on my condenser mic. When plugged in the low frequency hum is eliminated but a high frequency hum is created and the mic signal is gone. Is thing defective?

A: Hi George. The IL-19 is transformer-based and inherently blocks phantom power, so assuming your condenser mic requires phantom power, the IL-19 will not work as it is blocking the power the mic needs.

A: No, the IL-19 does not pass voltage with audio signal. I believe what you need to use is an intercom interface which is a system-to-system adapter designed to connect two intercom systems together and eliminate issues that create grounding and signal mismatch. Perhaps the Telex SSA324 2 Channel, 2-Wire to 4-Wire Intercom System Interface Converter with Call Signal (B&H # TESSA324) may work for you since it can be used to connect 2-wire systems to 2-wire systems.
