Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can these filters be stacked on b+W uv filters. Planning on using them for 58,72, and 77mm lenses I have with the uvs On.

A: I only stack this with an adapter to accommodate the smaller lenses. When I was looking at this filter, I chose the one for my largest lens and then bought adapters to use it on the smaller lens. This is the last filter I use in a stack and have used it stacked on my uv filter in 77mm.

Q: 2. Is it possible to see through plastic with this filter on a Nikon Z7ii? Or does it require other special equipment?

A: The Ice 77mm HB760 Infrared Filter has a filter factor of ~1000x and ~10 stops of ND. You will not be able to see through the glass unless you are aiming the filter directly at a bright light.

Q: 3. I purchased a 77mm Tiffen Variable ND Filter from you recently--can I get an adapter to adapt this to my Olympus 40-150mm Pro f2.8 lens? Also, is there any problem adapting ND Filters?

A: Without checking, I'm pretty sure you can get an adapter here from B&H. There should be no problem since your 77mm is larger than the 72 mm size of the Olympus lens B&H Shows it to be. Sometimes there is a problem with the filter causing light drop off around the edges but I would think you should be OK with a normal adapter, but you could also see if they have a thin adapter specially designed to minimize that problem in wide angle lenses where it is more prevalent (those in the 24-70 range), etc., but at 40 mm, I'm thinking you wouldn't have a problem either way!

Q: 4. What size lens cap do I need for the 67mm filter?

A: You will need a 77mm lens cap for this filter.

Q: 5. I usually use 0.9 Tiffen ND filters for DSLR video. I am able to get a shallow aperture in bright conditions. How much more beneficial would this filter be for me for video, as well as photography?

A: I can't help you with the video, but I use it a lot in my still photography because it gives you maximum creative control in/of such a wide variety of light conditions. Reduce depth, slow the movement of water or action or whatever as little or as much as you want - with one filter. I used to have to carry a number of ND filters and then it was an on-off affair until I found the one I wanted - by which time the light had often changed! The filter's quality is excellent and the filter is really smooth to operate. Yeah, it's pricey - but not when you consider that it's replacing three or four fixed ND filters in the range it covers. I hope I helped you. Good luck with your search. (Can't go wrong with B&H either. I've been a customer for over 30 years.)

Q: 6. Is this 67mm filter compatible with Tamron 16-300 lens?

A: Yes , this is the right size .

Q: 7. With all VND filters, can they be used with a standard UV lens protector or does it have to be removed before attaching the VND? Would rather be any problems/colour shift etc, using both?

A: You can use a VND screwed onto a UV filter, however... you may experience vignetting when shooting at wider angles as you are stacking filters (vignetting is when the camera sensor sees the filter rings, this causes dark corners). Also, a VND filter is highly recommended for still photography to aperture/control your depth of field when shooting in bright light and to control your shutter speed for long exposures during daylight. For video it's a great tool to control depth of field.

Q: 8. can you get a filter cap to go on it?? thank you, linda

A: Forget using a conventional lens cover. Look into a LensCoat Hoodie.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with an e-mount Sigma 50mm? I can seem to get it to thread onto my lens.

A: Yes, it is compatible.

Q: 10. Does this have hard stops?

A: No it does not have hard stops, but the stops are clearly marked on the outer perimeter with white dots.

I have experimented with the Zuma Infrared Filter in my yard and have taken some amazing photos. I am anxious to take a field trip to try the lens on some other subjects.

This is an excellent filtre. It works well on my 5x4 large format camera. I typically shoot medium format, and medium format infrared with an 87 filtre. This is a fine piece of German glass and is of excellent quality. The quality is superb. May I suggest this tool to you if you are in the market for an infrared filtre. I do not believe you shall find a better piece of glass. Read some reviews or read the manufacturer's website if you will. Allow me save you some tyme: buy it.
