The MPMXPROA4US XPRO Monopod+ from Manfrotto is a versatile aluminum support designed for use with DSLR, mirrorless, compact, and video cameras.

A handy tool for nearly any visual artist, professional, or content creator, a monopod can often travel places tripods cannot, providing additional stability and supporting heavy equipment when required. The MPMXPROA4US features a 4-section design which, when paired with its aluminum construction, results in an easy-to-transport design weighing just 1.65 lb. With a maximum height of 70.9" and a minimum height of just 22", the MPMXPROA4US can be adjusted to suit users of varying heights and for various different tasks.

While the design of a monopod is relatively simple the Manfrotto Monopod+ line utilizes some innovative features which make using the MPMXPROA4US fast and easy. The primary feature of the line is the inclusion of Manfrotto's patented Power-Lock flip locks which snap open and closed to ensure fast operation and a tight, unyielding lock. The D-shaped leg sections have been designed not only to compliment the Power-Locks but also to prevent unwanted twisting between leg sections and increase the stability of the monopod.

Additionally, the Monopod+ line also features Manfrotto's standard rubber leg warmer for an improved grip and an adjustable hand strap for extra security. A 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting thread is placed at the top of the monopod in the center of the baseplate, allowing users to either, direct mount a camera or lens, or use an articulating head if required.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this work with 5D mark lll?

A: Yes.

Q: 2. Is the foot connected with a 1/4 or 3/8 screw?

A: the Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US base consists of a 1/4"-20 attachment thread that is designed specifically to connect to the bottom section of select Manfrotto monopods.

Q: 3. Can the fluid base of the video monopod be removed so it can be used as either a photo or video monopod?

A: Yes, the fluid base on the MVMXPROA4US can be removed as needed.

Q: 4. How do you remove the QRP to mount the MVH500AH video head?

A: Manfrotto uses locking screws, also called grub screws, to keep whatever you attach from turning loose. When you want to remove a head, or in this case a quick release assembly, you must look underneath the round mounting plate that the QR assembly is attached to and find those recessed screws. With appropriate sized screwdriver you back those screws off a couple turns and then unscrew the assembly or head. Once you've screwed the 500AH head on go back to the screws and screw them in to secure the just mounted head.

Q: 5. Can one remove the base legs and use as a single leg monopod?

A: Yes, the base legs can be easily removed. They simply screw off. The monopod comes with a rubber cap to use when the legs are removed. This monopod is a significant improvement over the previous Manfrotto video monopod.

Q: 6. Hello, I just bought it, what assesorios need to be able to use my canon speedlite and a small Umbrella? Thank you

A: The following is a tripod but if it must be rigged in order to accommodate a dedicated flash and umbrella please review the following items. Impact Umbrella Bracket BH #IMBSM • MFR #3117 https://bhpho.to/3QTXuIU

Q: 7. Does the Fluid Base make the monopod more stable for still photography (I'm not doing video)?

A: The fluid base offers the additional capability of smooth movements during video shooting, it may also help in tracking moving subjects for bursts of high frame rate still shots as well.

Q: 8. Does this Monopod stand by itself with a camera on it?

A: Short answer: no. If you want to be able to set up a camera and leave it, get a small tripod. A monopod's main function is to offer a third point of stabilization for the operator. I've used this monopod with small mirrorless stills cameras up to large RED DSMC setups. It's one of my favorite monopods - super sturdy and the locking foot is an excellent added bonus for both stability and making camera moves. But I would NEVER leave a camera unattended. Expertly balanced and with a small camera body, yes, it can stand on its own in a still room on an even surface, but just as other responders have said - even the gentlest of breezes, or really even a sneeze, could prove disastrous.

Q: 9. Can I use the Nikon d850 and Nikon PF 500mm lens for wildlife video -particularly birds flitting about. Is it good for quick panning for getting birds on the fly?

A: Yes the Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US XPRO Aluminum Video Monopod can support up to 17 pounds and the integrated FLUIDTECH base utilizes a "3D" fluid cartridge which facilitates smooth pans and tilts from a single connection point.

Q: 10. Can I get this monopod with an arca swiss quick release head?

A: This monopod accepts Video Style 500PLong Plates. However you could always add an Arca Style Clamp to the top of this monopod, such as B&H # SUMAC14. Once you have such a clamp you will be able to use Arca Plates. https://bhpho.to/2b47Qpc

FINALLY Manfrotto updated some of their monopods!! This product is great! I paired this with the Manfrotto XPRO Fluid Base and it works perfectly. Super light but holds my heavy camera. Great for traveling in a carry on when paired with the XPRO Fluid Base. If you have an older Manfrotto monopod, it is worth the upgrade for sure. The Carbon Fiber is super nice, and very light!!

light , works smooth , 5 sections give more than enough height, sturdy, like the two thread mounting screw, the fold out feet work great and so does the swivel base

Build quality is great. Not too heavy, but can definitely withstand harsher environments. I like how the plate pops straight off rather than having to slide back and forth.

I like it so far but 2 heads up!

1) Wipe down legs after you first extend them. Had a little residual lube on mine.
2) The 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting thread is placed at the top of the monopod in the center of the baseplate, Yes but nothing in the manual that there is only one part, they are actually both in the head. Took me a bit of time to figure that one out. See the pics. Just press your camera or mount down, screw in and you are done

Great for steadying your shots when a tripod is too slow for reacting to changing conditions or impedes you mobility. The carbon fiber is light weight and much stronger than aluminum monopods and tripods I have used. This Manfroto is easy and quick for adjusting height and re-locking. Also the rubbery grip and wrist strap are a welcome touch.

I like the locking levers - very positive lock. Much better than the twist locks. Extremely well made.

This works well as a monopod, and also as a walking stick. It is sturdy, easy to open/close and packs in roll aboard luggage. Adding the tilting head makes it very useful as a monopod. It is heavier than a walking stick, but serves the dual purpose.

Great craftsmanship as expected from Manfrotto, lightweight, easy to extend with the quick to use snap locks. The fluid pan provide by base cartridge is smooth, the feet are very stable and the small features, as textured grip and dual mounting threads, make this a must have!
