A: I have done that with two plates. Works great. Screw easily removed and new one easily installed. Beats the heck out of that flat head screw. Mefoto should have used the D screw to begin with.

Q: 10. Can this work for clamp on matte box ?

A: Unfortunately the answer is no and that is because this is meant for only a passive connection between the lens and the matte box. In other words, the matte box must be supported by rods while using this. The interface between the lens and the matte box cannot be trusted to hold the matte box on the lens.
