Ordered this piece and it is what I expected, well built piece that works as described.

I purchased this for my 1DX and was really impressed to find out that RRS had even thought of the GPS accessory as the plate has an extra hole in the base that will allow the user to expand out the side plate to accommodate the the Canon GPS unit. Build quality in my opinion could not be better!

RRS brackets are a work of engineering art. Solid, well designed and beautifully produced. These brackets have saved my camera numerous times in falls so in addition to their intended purpose they provide great protection for the camera to which they are attached. Expensive but function effectively. The new modular design solves the problem of wifi modules and tethering using Canon's provided jerk stopper but does not compromise the strong protection and stability of the bracket.I have RRS L-brackets on all three of my Canon DSLRs.

I love this plate!  It fits my 1Dx2 like a glove, can not twist due to the design, has built-in allen wrench storage and best of all, accepts QD push-button swivels.  This is a perfect solution to anyone who uses a BlackRapid strap but wants to leave their base plate on all the time.  

The Really Right Stuff QD  Strap Swivel (D-Loop) is a much more substantial point of attachment than BlackRapids FastenR-T1 bolt with D-Ring and less than half the price.  Plus it swivels, whereas if you turn the FastenR-T1, it unscrews.   Also the RRS QD Strap Swivel is a much faster and easier hook up to the BlackRapids CR-3 ConnectR.  If you want an even larger point of attachment, check out the Magpul MS1 MS3-QD Adaptor.

I was turned on to Really Right Stuff by pro wildlife photographer, Steve Perry of Backcountry Gallery.  After my experience with this product, I will definitely look to RRS for more of my photography needs.  This plate is well designed and engineered and the quality is top notch!

This Really Right Stuff plate is a nice non-slip tripod plate solution. Lesser brands are liable to loosen and drop your camera without warning.

I first bought this plate and the matching L plate for my 1Dx Mk II. Besides being a great L bracket I love that this plate is equipped with the military grade strap disconnect that RRS sells. I put the clips on my BlackRapid straps and can use the straps with my cameras and simply push a button to have clear full access to my monopod and ball quick latch dovetails. So, I wanted a similar setup with my 1D Mk III. This plate fits that body very well and gives the quick attach point too for about the same cost as any other camera plate. In addition I can mount the L bracket on the Mk III with just NW screw. It doesn't line up perfectly with the openings but it is very convenient to use or remove. I highly recommend RRS products.

Fits tight on the bottom. No twisting. Smooth and low profile enough to not interfere with hand holding in vertical orientation.

Does the job and protects the camera at the same time. Superbly engineered, as it should be for the price. L-brackets have protected my cameras from damage on many occasions although that is not really their job. Highly recommended.

I have 3 full frame DSLRs and all have L-Plates by RRS. The incorporation of quick release sling swivels into their attachments is super smart. It keeps everything sleek and clean; makes it easy to attach and unattach to a sling (whilst being very secure); and includes a internally retained hex wrench so you're never with out the means to adjust or remove the L-Plate. Superb!
