The FAS-Clamp from Really Right Stuff has Arca-type compatible mounting surfaces on both the top and bottom of the clamp, and it mounts onto camera bars and rails in a parallel orientation. Mounting parallel allows the clamp to slide forward or back on the rail. The top clamp channel runs in a left to right orientation, which allows the camera to face forward for macro photography. It can also be used as a nodal slider for collared telephoto lenses.

There are two separate locking systems built into the FAS-Clamp. The side-locking knob controls the bottom clamp and locks it into position on a camera bar or multi-purpose rail. The locking-release lever opens the top clamp and it allows plates to be top-loaded quickly and easily. Locking down on a plate, the clamp has a holding power of 50 lb.

The CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum FAS-Clamp has an anodized type II black finish. The locking-release lever is made from stainless steel, and opening and closing the locking-cam is simply done with just finger force. The low-profile lever hugs the side of the clamp in a closed position, and it is less likely to get damaged by catching on clothing or something else in the field. Additionally, there are laser-engraved scales on top and bottom for repeatable alignment.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this Really Right Stuff Mini-Clamp Package is compatible with manfrottos quick release plate?

A: Unfortunately not. This is designed for Acra-Swiss type plates as opposed to Manfrotto's RC2 quick release system.

Q: 2. Is the base Arca-Swiss compatible?

A: Yes, the base of the Really Right Stuff Mobile Phone Clamp with Pocket Stand would be compatible for use with tripod heads that use an Arca-type clamp.

Q: 3. will this work with Robus RTH-1050 ball head ?

A: The Really Right Stuff R-Mount Clamp Rosette Adapter is incompatible with the Robus RTH-1050 Triple Action Ball Head.

Q: 4. Can you confirm this clamp is compatible with the 7.6" Multi-Purpose Rail from Really Right Stuff?

A: Yes, this clamp is compatible with the Really Right Stuff 7.6" Multi-Purpose Rail (1/4"-20).

Q: 5. Does it have a 1/4-20 socket at the bottom of the dove tail so it can be used with a standard tripod as well?

A: It has two 1/4"-20 standard threaded holes.

Q: 6. Will it fit the RRS BH-55?

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff Mobile Phone Clamp with Dovetail Jaw BH #RECLMPWTHDOV works with the RRS BH-55.

Q: 7. Has anyone used this with a D7200 (or similar) and a Sigma 10-20mm lens and is it the correct one? RRS have said that this is the correct rail but one of the reviews on this page said that using a Sigma 14mm 1.8 art lens it wasn't long enough. Thanks

A: It is expected to work with that setup, but if you personally have doubts there is the 7.4" version of it as well. BH #REMPRCLIIRIL.

Q: 8. Does the “Really Right Stuff Clamp With Plain Jaw & Pocket Clamp” have a dovetail base that will fit in RRS quick release clamps? I can’t tell from the images.

A: Yes, the foot of the pocket stand can be folded and the pocket stand will then fit a standard dovetail clamp.

Q: 9. Does this monopod come with a base plate included? Do I need to specifically purchase separate base plates for my Canon 5d4 and larger lenses such as the Canon 100-400mm IS II and 70-200mm f2.8 is II?

A: I HAVE THE VERSION WITH THE KNOB RATHER THAN THE QUICK RELEASE LEVER. MOUNTING PLATES ARE ATTACHED TO CAMERAS AND BODIES AND TEND TO BE MODEL SPECIFIC. FOR THIS REASON, THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF THE MONOPOD HEAD. A CHECK OF THE INCLUDED IN THE BOX SECTION WILL CONFIRM THIS FOR YOU.

Q: 10. What range of focal lengths does this work with?

A: It would depend on the physical length of the lens and camera. You don't want the rail to be much longer than the lens that it would appear in the photo and also not too small that you won't be able to find the nodal of the lens. Really Right Stuff MPR-CL Rail with Integral Clamp (5.7") will fit well a lens and camera that measures about 5.7 inches.

This product is a dream, it is reliable, compact, easy to use. Your DSLR is securily fastened in operation and quickly released, no loss of time. I am so satisfied, I bought a second one for my shoulder rig,I leave the other one on my tripod and then can either use one or the other without having to reinstall the base plate, real quick change. The Really Right Stuff adaptor is so well designed it does not take too much space so you can leave on the DSLR when handheld or in the case or bag.

Don't let the size fool you, this is a very useful and strong clamp like the rest of the RRS equipment. The fact that it can be rotated makes it even more useful than any other clamp. It can be used for camera mount as well as lenses. There are many clamps from other manufacturers but this thing is designed to stay where you want it to stay.

I bought this because I very much enjoy the arca-swiss type quick release system. Prior to using this I had used a normal clamp and mounted a quick release clamp on top of that. The problem with that was that sometimes the quick release clamp would shift slightly, which was problematic most notably in regards to my follow focus. With this everything stays straight and secure which is great. I bought a knob style really right stuff clamp with dual mount instead of the one the lever style they mentioned, because I had been using non RRS plates, and it works great!

I use this with the RRS 28” and 18” camera bars. This clamp is great for mounting collared lenses perpendicular to the track of the camera bar. Contrary to what the other reviewer says, my experience with RRS lever releases has been great and I’ve never “accidentally “ unlocked a lever. The way the end of the lever tucks in around the clamp, you’d have to work at it to catch the lever and release it. Anything will wear out over time but don’t let that scare you. RRS gear is built to last and is backed by a solid warranty and great service. I’ve also had no problem using other manufacturers’ plates with my RRS clamps. That said, better quality plates that are close to the Arca standard are the way to go. I’ve used Wimberley, Kirk and Giottos plates with no issues. RRS gear isn’t cheap but in my experience you get what you pay for.

As recommended, I acquired the RRS B2-LR-II. If you are doing photo with video inclination this setup is the only one available at this time to have arca swiss accessories mounted to 15mm rods. -pros- High quality, perfect fit. (RRS makes the best and most precise accesories, other brands do not lock in the same especially for lever releases that could just slide off due to microscopic differences in fit vs knob releases that tighten) Connects to the quick release via two supplied phillips screws. Fits both ways to adjust forward or side to side arca swiss plates (connecting via base of camera that goes side to side or via lens foot that goes forward and back) -cons- Price, does not include the RRS B2-LR-II Does not come with the standard RRS Allen key screws, instead you must Carry another tool, the phillips screw driver if you wish to rotate the B2-LR-II Overall, it's made by Redrock Micro to fit RRS. You pay for the quality. With it's various threads this item can fit a tripod attached to the base with another quick release clamp of your choosing with its two different thread sizes which in turn allows some creativity to build up your rig. Five stars because it is what it is and does what it's meant for.

The pinnacle of engineering. There is nothing that could be improved about this. Perfect for RRS rails and because it has some screw clamps you can also fit off-brand rails as well since there is some size tolerance to what it can clamp.

I have used these clamps in my pano rig for 2-3 years without issues.

This purchase was to replace my old mini clamps which were lost whilst travelling in the high arctic. So just make sure they are always tightened down on the rail when travelling, or better still, remove while travelling to be on the safe side. I was unable to do panos in Svalbard and the Faroes which was frustrating as couldn't get replacement clamps delivered in time.

The double clamps provide maximum flexibility and the necessary clearance to use with 100mm Lee filters.

I prefer lever release style to screws but given size of unit that's presumably not a viable option.

These are fantastic. The camp, when connected, allow you to use the panning base of a pano-gimbal head as a nodal slide for single-row panoramas. Because you can connect the clamps in either orientation, you rotate one of them 90 degrees for use with either a collared lens or a camera body with L-plate. Furthermore, one of these clamps has a dovetail on it perpendicular to the jaws of the clamp. This allows you to convert a nodal rail with integral clamp for use with collared lenses, as placing this clamp in the nodal rail's integral clamp allows for clamping of plates parallel to the nodal rail.
