Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with BG-R10 battery grip?

A: No, the Acratech Quick Release Plate for Canon EOS R5 is meant to fit the camera body itself, not the Canon BG-R10 Battery Grip. For a plate for the bottom of the grip one can use the Kirk PZ-185 Camera Plate for Canon EOS R5 and R6 with BG-R10 Grip, BH #KIPZ185 (https://bhpho.to/3RcWTUI).

Q: 2. Does this plate have safety stops?

A: No, the Acratech 4" telephoto quick release plate does not have safety stops/screws/pins.

Q: 3. Is this the correct plate for a Sony FE 200-600 mm F5.6-6.3 lens with original foot (3.5 inches long with one 1/4-20 and one 3/8-16 tapped hole)?

A: Yes it is compatible with the Sony 200-600mm lens.

Q: 4. Does this plate work with the new M6 II?

A: Yes, it is compatible with the M6 II.

Q: 5. Does this plate have a notch for attaching a camera strap, like the Peak Design Slide?

A: Our plates do not have a notch for inserting a camera strap.

Q: 6. I just purchased the Tamron SP 150-600 from you and now find that the lens foot is not compatible with my tripod ball head. I am interested in this or similar (6 ) as I will possibly be purchasing a gimbal head later which would require the longer plate. My question though is this plate shows two screws but my lens foot only has one. Does this mean that I must order a shorter plate to get one with one screw or is the second screw removable and not needed? Thanks for your help.Paul Sorrells

A: The screws do come out of the quick release plate. Six inches is a bit too long for that lens and this one would be a better choice for an Arca-Swiss style quick release plate for that lens,Wimberley P30 Quick Release PlateB&H # WIQRPP30 Mfr # P-30http://bhpho.to/VwdNk1

Q: 7. Will this work on a canon EF 100-400 with an existing collar and plate? The plate has one screw.

A: The Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (5") would be too long for use with the Canon 100-400mm lenses. As an alternative, if you own the original push/pull Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens, the Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (2.5"), B&H # ACQRLP2.5, would be the correct lens plate for your usage needs. If you own the new twist-zoom Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens, then the Acratech 3.5" Lens Plate for Canon, B&H # ACLPC3.5, would be the correct lens plate for your usage needs.

Q: 8. Is this plate usable along with the battery grip?

A: This Acratech Quick Release Plate for the Canon EOS R5 is meant for use without a battery grip attached to the bottom of the camera.

Q: 9. Is the tripod screw tightened with a coin slot, allen wrench, or a fold down finger handle?

A: Hi - it uses an allen wrench!

Q: 10. compatible with nikon d780?

A: Yes, the following quick release plate will work with the Nikon D780.

I use this model plate on my Nikon D40 on an Arca Swiss Z1 ballhead with a handscrew plate mount. I previously used a generic plate with no lip on the back, which was fine for landscape shots but terrible for vertical ones. The problem was no matter how much I tightened the screw holding the plate to the camera, the camera would rotate a bit on the plate itself, making it very hard to compose shots on the tripod. I bought this plate because it has the lip in the back to prevent that. I've taken it out several times now, and it's worked flawlessly. The only thing I don't like is the allen wrench screw because I'd like to be able to put the plate on and take it off more easily. (My old plate had a simple flathead screw big enough that I could use a quarter to screw it in tightly.) But this plate is small and light enough that I always keep it on the camera, and the allen wrench fits in my camera bag anyway.

Fits my R perfectly. There is absolutely no camera rotation when I place the camera on portrait mode with a ball tripod head. Does not impede at all the use of the flip out screen. Very lightweight. This lives permanently attached to my camera. Use it with my 10 years old quick release camera strap connector and tripod heads (also Acratech).

Really helps on my Nikon 180-600mm lens.

Fits nicely and offers enough extra length to balance the lens and add a flash bracket. I have purchased lens specific plates in the past but this one works just as well and is more interchangeable.

I am using this on a Pentax 150-450 as a QR base. It fits perfect, it allows me to secure using both studs on to the bottom of the lens ring. Slides well into my ball head on my tripod and monopod.

The build is good, thay fit my benro gimble .
One problem thay dont have a stop pin on the bottom. If you move plate and dont hold lens it can slide out of gimble.has no stops.it is still
A good plate. Just remember to hold lens for adjustments.

It does what it's suppose to do. I mean it's a piece of metal that suppose to stick to my quick release when tightened and not drop my camera to the floor. It's not rocket science.
