The sleek, black-finished ARRI FF-4 Basic Follow Focus Unit consists of a single-sided follow focus with one standard knob. This robust, economical unit slides onto a pair of lightweight 15mm rods (rods not included). The FF-4 is designed with a 1:2 knob-to-gear ratio for smooth, accurate focus pulls on a variety of lenses.

A required focus gear is not included with this unit.

The FF-4 features a modular design that is compatible with most ARRI follow focus accessories such as whips, speed cranks, and knob accessories (available separately). One flat marking disk is included with the FF-4 Basic Unit.

Q: 1. Can I use this on the Rokinon 85mm T1.5 DS cine lens ?

A: I see no problem of using the edelkrone FOCUSONE PRO Follow Focus Unit with Rokinon 85mm T1.5 DS cine lens or any cine lens for that matter. Just mount your camera, lens follow focus unit on a 15mm rig and go shoot.

Q: 2. Since there's no manual when I bought this. How do you adjust this to work on larger sized lens like an 82mm? The wheel just goes over 360* degrees making the hard stop useless. Any ideas?

Q: 3. Can this system be used with a large lens like a Arri master anamorphic?

A: I haven't tried it, but a suspect it won't work with a lens like that. The sideways movement on this follow focus is not very extensive, so it may not work. If you are using a lens like that, I recommend you use either a wireless FF unit or an Arri studio follow focus like the FF4.

Q: 4. How much does this unit weigh? The specs say 5lbs, but the package weight says 2.95lbs. I heard it was heavy but 5lbs seems a bit much.

A: I don't know exactly how much it weighs but its certainly not heavy. I highly recommend this follow focus. it's very precise. I am used to Arri and Chrosziel, This Tilta keeps up... and my assistants always comment on how nice it is.

Q: 5. Is it possible to unmount the FF from the 15mm rod adaptor and mount it on a 19mm Tilta rod adaptor?

A: We do not recommend it because It is not designed to do that. This doesn't mean that it is impossible to mount the follow focus to a 19mm rod adaptor but you would likely lose the ability to easily slide left and right to accommodate different diameter lenses. Not to mention it would void the warranty in the event something happened to your follow focus as a result of this modification.

Q: 6. Could it work with the new Adelkrone remote ?

A: The edelkrone FocusONE Follow Focus Unit is a hand controllable, analog, follow focus unit. As such it will not be able to work directly with an electronic remote.

Q: 7. Does this follow focus fit a Canon XA10?

A: As long as you secure the included rings around the lens. You will also need and make sure that you have a base plate with rails that you will need to attach the follow focus to in order to mount the follow focus to the lens.

Q: 8. Which direction does this unit pull focus? Is forward pulling infinite focus? Is backwards pulling for close upshots or is it the opposite?

A: As you rotate the follow focus ring to the right, it will also turn the lens ring to the right.

Q: 9. Is this system able to use 15mm studio setups?

A: Yes it can fit 15mm setups

Q: 10. Will this work with the titla a7 rig?

A: Yes it will. Is the same we have.

The FocusOne Pro is solidly built and if nicely designed to accommodate lots of different rigs. For instance, I purchased the IndieTools rails for $99 and rented a Red Rock Micro follow focus to use with them. However, the Red Rock Micro follow focus slides onto both rails and the IndieTools rails did not provide enough height for my camera/lens, so the lens was hitting the crossbar of the follow focus! This is of course my fault, but when you're working with rented gear, you can't always check that stuff ahead of time. The FocusOne follow focus attaches to one rail only, meaning that it's as out of the way of your other attachments as it can possibly be. I read another review saying that the one-rail design was a little unstable and that this follow focus sometimes slips out of position, but I haven't had that problem. That reviewer said that s/he uses a few rubber bands to go from the follow focus to the other rail and that keeps it in place. NOTE: if you need a follow focus quickly, this is not for you. As of December 2014, it takes 6-10 weeks to ship (mine took about 8). I suspect they are built to order. 5

It is really sturdy and it is fixed by just one rail. Because of this it swings out of the way when I bag my rail system. I have broken two FFs sliding them in and out of the truck. 5

I bought this because of the Slider (Which is also fantastic). Great quality build, it's made of Metal (really good weight), and it's extremely smooth. I was initially worried about it slipping on the rod, but it's very snug, no slip. What really sold me on this was the option to use Reverse and Standard Focus, so you don't have to think which way to revolve (there's an extra gear you can move to make contact with the Lens Gear). Also, it fits on any Lens Gear. I use this with my C100 and a monopod / tripod. I recommend using with a Lens with IR, VR or VC. However, I don't think it works with a Ring Light set up (I have one from F and V Lighting), but it touches the right light unit. 5

I like how adjustable this is, and it feels like a quality item while having a relatively low price. I was worried that I'd have to spend 4 figures on a follow focus, but then I found this. It feels like the more expensive ones, too, and I like how there's a separate disk to mark focus points so that it's easier to clean dry erase markers off of it. 5

When combined with the Edelkrone Pocket Rig v.3 and a good tripod you've created a perfect unison for focus/stabilization. Amazing for composing your tripod based shots indoor or outdoors, especially when you are shooting wired/wireless tethered where you can move about and compose your next shot. Set It And Forget It!!!! 5

Honetsly for the price I wasnt expecting much, and I was very surprised when I got it. The wheel feels good and smooth and overall quality is absolutely correct. Perfect as a starter follow focus, could probably even have his place in a more advanced rig. 5

I really like this follow focus. It is well made and feels like it too when handling. What I like about this one so much is that you can adjust your target focal point and adjust the disc to that spot then you go to your first set and when you have to go back to your target you hit it just right every time. I did not want a wireless because many times I am a one man shoot. The dial is nicer than a whiteboard type dial as those can easily be wiped off by accident. Although Edelkrone does include a second disk to be marked with markers that you can install if that is what you prefer. Overall, this is well made! 5
