Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What plug do I need to buy for the ARRI Arrilite 2000 Plus?

A: If running a 2000 watt lamp in this Arri fixture, you would need a plug such as the Altman Male Edison Nema 5-20P Connector (20A) B&H # ALEC20M.

Q: 2. Can this work with CLM-3

A: No, the ACM-1 Active cforce Motor Controller with UBUS interface will only work with ARRI Cforce motors. It does not support ARRI CLM-3 Motors.

Q: 3. two questions really1. Is there an accessory i can pick up that will allow me to use a westcott parabolic umbrella easily with this (pointing the 750 into the umbrella or shooting through it)? My lightstand will be an impact branded chrome c-stand.2. im going to be shooting primarily outside and would like to daylight balance the light. I know this can be done with gels. The question i have is where and how to mount the gels w/o melting them. Thanks!

A: 1. This is a hanging fixture. You'd have to find some kind of adapter to change it to a stand mount. A 750W fixture is also possibly a bit too hot for your umbrella. You might consider a diffusion gel instead.2. For the gel, you'd want to use no-drip, fire resistant certified gels (Apollo, Rosco) & a gel frame available many places including B&H I'm sure. Check the diameter of the hole of the frame to be sure it is going to let most of your light thru, but you can use a generic gel frame.

Q: 4. Can you use chimera video pro softbox s with this lamp without any additional speedrings? a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/149963-REG/Arri_571159_Chimera_Video_Pro_Bank.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/149963-REG/Arri_571159_Chimera_Video_Pro_Bank.html/a

A: Yes; as indicated under the Overview, the detachable accessory holder handles accepts Chimera Video Pro Plus softboxes without having to purchase a dedicated speed ring.

Q: 5. Hello, how hot is this lamp? I want to use it in my studio. is kind of small. And I am afraid to burn it out? does the light has a dimmer?

A: Yes - This instrument gets hot - but you should be able to lamp it with 575 W or 750 W HPL bulbs. No dimmer is built into the instrument,

Q: 6. What external dimmer is used with this light?

A: The Mole-Richardson Molestat 2500 Watt AC Dimmer (120V AC), B&H # MOMSD2500, would be the correct dimmer recommended for use with the ARRI Arrilite 2000 Plus.

Q: 7. Does it come with a bulb inside? Or do you need to order the 750w bulb separately?

A: The bulb is not included with the Arri Arrilite 750 Plus light fixture. You would have to purchase the bulb separately. As listed under the Accessories tab, I would recommend the Ushio HPL+ 750W Lamp (750W/120V), B&H# USHPL750, for your stated needs.

Q: 8. Can you operate this light extendedly while it is pointed downwards? I’d like to use it with a Chimera lantern…

A: Yes, you can use the ARRI ARRILITE 750 Plus extended on a boom aimed down with a Chimera lantern mounted to it as long as the lantern is rated for 750W or above.

Q: 9. is this metal or plastic? It looks like metal but I have a plastic version and want another

A: Arri does not indicate the construction of the ARRI CLM-5/cforce Mini 19/15mm Clamp Insert for 15mm Rod. We believe it would be plastic construction.

Q: 10. The spec sheet says this light accepts 750, 575 and 375W HPL lamps, but I couldn't find any 375W HPL lamps with a G9.5 base on B&H. Where can I find an appropriate one for a 220VAC, 50Hz socket?

A: Jay - I would have to say if B&H doesn't carry any 375W HPL lamps with a G9.5 base, then they REALLY must be tough to find. I bought the Arrilite 750 Plus specifically because I was looking for a high output light. I coupled it with the 36x48 Chimera Medium Video Pro Plus 1 Softbox. A powerful, super creamy soft light had been recommended by DPs Alex Buono and Shane Hurlbut for solo filmmakers ( like myself ). Something that would be powerful and easy to set up and break down. I added the Impact D1000 1,000W AC Dimmer Control to give me some flexibility without worrying about changing out lamps. Both the Arrilite 750 Plus and the Chimera Softbox work great together, and do produce a lovely wrap-around light for interview subjects - which was my need. Maybe the dimmer is an idea for you? Hope this helps . . .
