At just 2.9" in height with a 1.2" ball, the BH-30 Ball Head with Mini Screw-Knob Clamp from Really Right Stuff is a great support solution in a small form factor. With a load capacity of 15 lb, the BH-30 is a great match for pro cameras with lenses up to 70-200mm and mirrorless and bridge cameras alike. The head features an oversized spring-loaded locking T-lever that can be conveniently pulled out and repositioned in 60-degree increments. The panning base has a separate lock and is laser-engraved in 2.5-degree increments from 0-360 degrees for accurate repeatability.

I already owned the BH-40 on my standard tripod but wanted a smaller, lighter head for my Gitzo travel pod as the one supplied as part of the package was just too heavy and disappointingly didn't adjust 100% smoothly. The BH-30 has reduced the load by 6 ounces and the ball action/adjustment is so smooth under load it's unbelievable. Top marks for Really Right Stuff. 5

This is the Best Ball Head I have ever purchased. I got this one to use with the RRS TQC 14 tripod. Great light weight combination for a tripod and ball head. The quality is outstanding. A bit expensive but worth it. 5

Really Right Stuff BH-30 Ball Head is compact and a perfect fit for the Gitzo GT2545T Series 2 Traveler Carbon Fiber Tripod. This combination is easily packed into the Really Right Stuff 19 Compact Bag. The BH-30 Ball Head with Mini Screw-Knob Clamp performs very well and has a solid hold on the camera with precise positioning. Will hold a Nikon D810 with a 70-200mm lens very steady without give on the ball head. Adjustments are very easy to make in the field with a firm confidence of holding the camera. Using the Kirk L Bracket and Really Right Stuff L Bracket which works well on this BH-30 Ball Head. Like the Screw-Knob Clamp which has a solid hold on the bracket. They also make a Lever for the RRS Ball Heads but you would need to use RRS L Brackets for those. 5

I use this light weight ballhead on a Gitzo Mountaineer Series 1 carbon fiber tripod. I’ve mounted the EM-1 MkII with the Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 lens and teleconverter. Even in a stiff breeze of 5-10 mph at 14 degrees F the ball was easy to move and the images were sharp and clear. This small lightweight ballhead is worth every penny when quality photography is paramount. 5

This Really Right Stuff Ball head is great, It is small, but sturdy and operates very smoothly. I love the ease of turning the ball head, and the way the head feels when tightened in place.The heaviness of the camera with the lens feel sturdy and held in place very securely. I put this head on my full size Gitzo tripod and it feels very secure. I highly recommend this head. 5

Bought it used and very satisfied. It works with my Nikon d810 w/tamron 150-600mm on it. Mainly use with a 16-35 & 24-70mm, but it’s nice having something compact that can handle some weight and not budge. 5

I purchased this ball head for use with my Gizto 1545 Traveler Series tripod. It is an excellent fit for this model and I would think for pretty much any similar tripod. The ball and panning base actions are very smooth. The respective control knobs are easy to turn and quickly lock the ball and panning base tightly. This ball head is solid and easily holds my Nikon D850 with a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. It could easily do much more. 5

This amazing ball head was on back order, and I'm glad I waited. It is perfect for my D850 Sigma Art 24-105 f4 or Z 7II Z 24-70 f2.8 S on either my FEISOL Mini Tripod TT-15 Mark 2 or my MeFOTO BackPacker S Carbon Fiber Travel. I was looking for a small, lightweight ball head, and this fits the bill perfectly. Extremely well made, in the USA! 5
