Reminiscent of a classic lab print, PermaJet USA Ultra Pearl 295 Digital Photo Paper, available here in a 50-pack of A3 paper, offers a traditional pearl finish that will benefit many photographic prints. It has a resin-coated base with a microporous coating that is both instant drying and water resistant. Also, it has an Image Protection Layer that will act as a deterrent for theft via scanning. Additionally, it has a basis weight of 295 gsm, a thickness of 11 mil, and a 103% whiteness.

Q: 1. The description says it compatible with magenta and yellow filters, 0-5...so does that mean its not compatible with 00?

A: In my experience, using the Ilford Multigrade 00 filter is fine with this paper.

Q: 3. Does this 250 sheet pack come in a sturdy box with a lid, or the same type of packaging (end flap opening) as the 50 sheet packs?

A: It has end flap opening. I've ordered several boxes in the past few years and 2 have arrived with corners bent. I'm sure BH would have exchanged, but I trim down for a custom size and was able to cut off bent corner. Hopefully BH starts bubble wrapping.

Q: 4. Is this paper archival quality?

A: Yes it is archival paper.

Q: 5. I was using Ilford paper, but it is being discontinued. Will this paper work with Canon ink?

A: Yes it is compatible with Canon inks.

Q: 6. Will this paper work with a Canon GP 2000 large format printer?

A: Yes. The Epson Ultra Premium Luster Photo Paper (13 x 19", 50 Sheets) can be used in a Canon GP2000 printer. However, there would be no ICC profile available.

Q: 7. Can I use it with my sprocket Studio? And Lifeprint ?

A: The Canon 2 x 3" ZINK Photo Paper Pack (50 Sheets) (B&H# CAZP203050) is for Canon ZINK-compatible printers and cameras only. It will not work in any other type of printing device.

Q: 8. Is this paper double sided?

A: It is not. Great paper.

Q: 9. I'm looking for both a glossy / luster paper and a matte paper that can accept the heat of a drymount press with the aim of mounting on to foam core. I was thinking about Epson Luster and Ink Press Matte.

A: These papers will be able to hold up to a drymount press.

I used this on a documentary project for college and i'm very pleased, to say the least. I printed with an Epson 2200 printer and the sharpness and color accuracy were right on. A great buy for anyone looking to present prints in a brightly lit area. The luster finish allows for a similar depth of tones and detail while avoiding its gloss and sheen. One small heartbreak I experienced - one that I assume anyone who did what I did would - was how easily the prints scratch. I dropped it on the ground, and though I lifted it very very carefully, it still was scuffed from the initial impact. I had to reprint, but that did afford me a chance to witness firsthand how consistently the paper prints. 5

I have used Epson premium luster finished papers for the past six years. I am currently using an Epson 2880 and previously used the 2200 printer. The semi-gloss finish is excellent and compares favorably to semigloss photographic paper. I have never expienced any color or image fading. The only problem that occurs, as with other resin coated papers, is an out gassing effect where picture frame glass becomes fogged from glycol vapors. To prevent this, I use a highly absorbent paper to absorb any glycol remaining on the surface, as recommended by Epson and other paper manufacturers. 5

This is the best paper i have ever used to date. EVER. BAR NONE. You will not be disappointed.The color is vibrant beyond belief. This is the second batch of this paper i have ordered and im hella picky about my color. GET IT GET IT GET IT!!!! 5

Its luster - not gloss, not matte its perfect. There are probably cheaper papers that can fairly compare, but you know your getting good stuff with Epson. 5
