Q: 1. i bought this product attached lens one side ok other side not able to remove the lens?
A: I have attached two lens all the time with no problem removing either lens. I was late in responding because I wanted to test the flipper in cold weather with two lens to see if weather had any effect on the flipper but it does not.As with any lens mounting just be careful to align the dots on the lens with the dots on the flipper. I hope this answers your question.
Q: 2. Would this work on a beaulieu 5008 super 8? Have a canon EF 70-300mm ultrasonic. Please answer back
A: From our research that vintage camera does have a C-Mount. However how well any adapter and modern lens will work on a Vintage piece of gear is something you would need to test out to see the results. Since this is an EF to C-Mount adapter it should work, but we are not aware of any specific testing done between the two.
Q: 3. Would this product hold up to having two large L telephoto lenses attached all day on a long hot day outside? Can the plastic hold up to it? I was just thinking if a person became good at this change-over system, this could hold the 2nd and 3rd lenses, counting the 1st on the camera body. Is there anything that tells of a maximum weight or anything that would prevent this?
A: Holding two lens would not hang or balance as good on the side of your body. I first researched the product on the manufactures webpage. The center ring is all metal and there was a video of a man hanging off the strap. Who knows if it was not a lucky try and many breaks, but it shows the center is quite strong. The lens mount strength are all in the screws holding the metal rings to the body but it looks strong enough to support a large lens over time. I have only briefly owned mine but it seems to be a well made product. One dropped expensive lens would be too much bad press for such a company, I would think.
Q: 4. What is the height of this item?
A: The Lens Mount Cap Single is 5/8" high.
Q: 5. If I use the ef-s 18-135mm on the eos r how much the crop will be?
A: Since you would be using a crop sensor lens, it would be about a 1.6x crop and you would be working with roughly 11.6 megapixels.
Q: 6. I am about to put my Rokinon Cine Primes on my Bolex H16 and shoot some Tri-X 200 asa. Has anyone tried this? Is there a calculation for setting exposure to adjust for using the c mount to eos ef Canon adapter? If no one responds I will be happy to post my results.
A: The iris on this adapter is not needed for use with manual lenses like the Rokinons. You just use the manual iris on the Rokinon lens while leaving the iris of the adapter at its widest opening. The adapters iris is meant to compensate for loss of the iris control of a Canon EOS EF lens. Now in the digital world you could just set this up and see the effect of the adapter iris immediately on screen. However, since you are shooting film, we suggest doing what a professional would do before principal photography and that would be to shoot an exposure test. (there is no available exposure calculation chart for this adapter.) Line up a shot of a person holding a grey card plus a notation of what the f/stop is that you have determined by using a light meter. You can use a clapperboard or a clipboard to display the card and the f stop. (Do yourself a further favor and have it held steady in the frame held by a grip stand.) I would shoot at a variety of f/stops so that I would know what was happening if I was to shoot at those f/stops. As you can see, we strongly suggest sacrificing a roll of film this way so that you know you are getting correct exposure once you start shooting for real.
Q: 7. can someone confirm this product hold both EF and EF-S lenses?
A: It might not work for an EF-S lens that has a back part that protrudes too far back. The mount is the same, but some EF-S lenses don't work with some full frame cameras because that back part hits the mirror.
Q: 8. Will the face recognition auto-focus technology of the EOS RP still operate lenses attached with this adapter in the same way as the R-mounted lenses do? In other words, will the camera still be able to continuously focus on faces automatically with attached auto-focus-enabled lenses?
A: The Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R will give you full compatibility with Canon EF or EF-S-mount lenses. When used on the Canon EOS RP Mirrorless Digital Camera you will get all the functionality you would get with RF-mount lenses.
Q: 9. Does the use of this adapter negate the full frame sensor of the camera and in essence make it a cropped sensor?
A: No, its only a spacer.
Q: 10. Will this adapter works with Zeiss Compact Prime CP.2 - EF Mount? Thanks.
A: It will work with any EF mount lens.
