The Realtree Max5 TravelCoat Lens Cover for Canon 500mm f/4L IS Lens from LensCoat is a 3.0mm thick shock-absorbing closed-cell neoprene lens cover that is custom tailored to fit with the lens hood in reverse position. It is designed to fully protect the lens when not in use, without the need for a more comprehensive lens case. It allows more valuable room for packing and storage. The coat simply slides over the lens, and closes with a secure touch fastener. The Realtree Max5 is a detailed camouflage pattern that features cattails, millet, milo, corn stalks, sunflowers, oak and maple leaves, cedar and oak limbs, plus a variety of other plant life.

Covers the lens with the lens hood on very well. If you have the lenscoat cover on the inner neoprene can roll you lenscoat as its quite grippy... Its not a quick on quick off as a result -- feel like I have to wrestle with it a bit but its on pretty easily and stays put. There's a slit in the lining inside the cover that I use to store the plastic canon lens cap inside so I have it with me should I want to take the lens hood off. 5

I used to just leave the lens hood on my Pentax DA 55-300, but always worried. With the Hoodie, I don't worry any more. Nice fit, good protection and easy to slip on. Would have liked it to be a bit longer, but it works just fine as it is. 5

Bought this to cover the collapsible rubber lens hood on my 70-300. Needed something I could use in the field and the hard cap was too much to deal with. Works great. Actually have hoodies for all my lens. I find them to be excellent replacements for hard caps, especially when you don't want to take off the lens hood but still protect the front of your lens. 5
