The Realtree Max5 TravelCoat Lens Cover for Sony 500mm f/4 Lens from LensCoat is a 3.0mm thick shock-absorbing closed-cell neoprene lens cover that is custom tailored to fit with the lens hood in shooting position. It is designed to fully protect the lens when not in use, without the need for a more comprehensive lens case. It allows more valuable room for packing and storage. The coat simply slides over the lens and closes with a secure touch fastener. It can be used with an optional LensCoat lens cover. The Realtree Max5 is a detailed camouflage pattern that features cattails, millet, milo, corn stalks, sunflowers, oak and maple leaves, cedar and oak limbs, plus a variety of other plant life.

It was taking too much time to remove and replace these plastic covers in the field so I now use Lenscoat hoods for all my lenses from 600mm down to 17-40mm.The medium hoods are for my 300mm f4 and 400mm f5.6 lenses that have a 77mm diameter. (They take 77mm filters) These hoods provide a loose fitting which is fine for me. You should check your lens diameter and make your choice on that. Based on my findings for a lens with 72mm or smaller diameter I use a smaller size than medium.The hoods are of high quality and provide extra benefit in that they don't get lost as easily as the plastic covers. Can't use the lens hood that came with my Canon 500 f/4. Totally impractical in the field. Have used tupperware covers which fit nicely but I was always afraid I'd scratch the front element. Along comes Hoodies from LensCoat and all my problems have been solved. Very easy to use, snug fit and designed not to touch the glass. 5

This is great to quick slip over your lens hood & keep dust, little fingers, etc. off of your lens. It's a little bulky but can be slipped into a jacket pocket when not in use. 5

I was looking for a shower cap/snow cap for my sigma 150-500mm bazooka and this worked perfectly. The large hoodie fit nicely over my attached 110mm lens hood and fits tightly because of the neoprene material that stretches like a rubber band. In regular use, it is impossible to remove the lens cap from the sigma lens when the lens hood is on it. I was out shooting a train travelling down the track during a snow storm and this did the trick. It kept the lens shielded (with the lens hood attached) until I needed to shoot the train. With a slight tug, off the hoodie came, ready to shoot in an instant. Also the end of the hoodie is cushioned nicely to protect your gear. I will purchase a second smaller hoodie for my 24-70mm lens. Having a wide-angle lens I sometimes have a slim circular polarizer on it which doesnt have outside threads so I cant put a lens cap on it. The hoodie will be my lens cap!! 5

there is no snap-in lens cap made for this lens due to the size. B&H found a solution for me. The slip-on lens boot works better than the lens cap and cost less. Couldn’t be happier!!! 5
