Featuring a sliding camera plate, SHAPE's REVOLT VCT Universal Baseplate can accommodate rigs of varying sizes. Simply attach your camera via 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screws to the top plate, and slide it onto the shoulder plate. Fore and aft movement allows you to balance the weight of your setup properly. Further adjustments can be made by moving the shoulder pad. The 15mm rod clamps at the front and rear of the baseplate allow you to secure 15mm accessories such as a matte box, follow focus, lens motors, lens supports, battery plates, or external recorders. Since the front rod clamp is attached to the top plate, the rod-mounted accessories don't need to be repositioned as the rig is adjusted. Additionally, handles can be mounted to the ARRI standard rosettes on either side of the plate. When not shoulder-mounted, the baseplate can be secured to a standard VCT-14 ENG quick release in a matter of seconds, saving time on set.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I attach rods to the back of this baseplate?

A: Hello Derek, Thank you for your question! You can certainly add a rod bloc at the back of the baseplate which would allow you to attach rods at the back, or simply purchase our BP0008 which already has that option. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1025352-REG/shape_bp0008_8000_v_lock_quick_release.html. This unit is also available here at B&H. We hope this helps and we thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 2. Will this work with a Sony F3?

A: Yes this is actually considered a Universal baseplate. You will just need a VCT mount for this. Mounts can attach to any tripod plate or you can mount the VCT directly onto a plate if you dont need the quick release action and can depend on what your tripod offers you.

Q: 3. I saw the rig at the NAB and it is INSANE.... But I have this question that I've forgot to ask...Can we remove easily the shoulder pad? I have a very comfy one that I use all the time... :)

A: Hello Jonathan,Thank you for your question and your compliments! You can indeed remove the shoulder pad attached to the lower part of our REVOLT plate by removing 4 attachment screws which hold the shoulder pad in place. Unfortunately, we can't attach any picture in our response in this thread, but for more info on this topic, please contact us via: support@shapewlb.com.We hope this helps and we thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 4. What's the difference between the BP10 and BP20?

A: The main difference between the SHAPE Revolt Shoulder Baseplate models is that the BP20 has a lighter weight, and more compact design compared to the BP10. SHAPE Compact Revolt Shoulder Baseplate BH #SHBP20

Q: 5. With the first version of Universal VCT, with a Sony FS7, the stock LCD was too close to the face, with no possibility of moving the camera forward. Did someone try this new version with a FS7? Is it possible to move the camera enough forward to get the stock LCD with stock bracket to a good distance of the face?

A: Sony designed the LCD to be used with the loupe when in shoulder mode. Thus the LCD mounting rod, while improved with a non-twisty square post with the F7 Mark II, is not really meant to extend the LCD in shoulder mode. Since Zacuto is all about getting the camera back on the shoulder, and not forward, I do not see this plate being able to do what you wish.

Q: 6. Would this work with a Sony PMW-F3?

A: Hello Ulises,Thank you for contacting us! The F3 is a camera with a special screw pattern underneath. Meaning that if you look under the camera, you'll notice the attachment screws are not centered but offset. To attach it on our Universal baseplate, you would need a plate adapter between both. Since this camera is a bit older, we do not manufacture such an adapter plate. But you can sure find one on the market.Don't hesitate to give us a call if you need more info on this subject. We thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 7. what's the weight of it?

A: Hello Joey, Thank you for your question, the weight of our VCT baseplate is 1.5 lbs. We hope this helps and we thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 8. Does it compatible to black magic Ursa (big one,7.5 kg),Dr Asok

A: Yes should work fine, Its made to be universal. You might need some longer 15mm rods then the ones provided depending on your lens/rig set up. I think it comes with a 6 inch pair. It's more then solid enough to hold the weight.

Q: 9. Would this fit a Panasonic AG-DVX200?

A: Hello Stephen, Thank you for your question! Our BP22 would surely fit with this camera given its side LCD monitor that opens up. Because of the location of the monitor though, it might be a bit high, but if you plan on framing with an external monitor, the ergonomy of the whole setup would be a better fit. We hope this helps and we thank you for your interest in our products. The SHAPE team

Q: 10. Once I slide the the top plate off the shoulder rig, is there a mating low-profile tripod plate that it can attach to (for a stabilizer or steadicam)?

A: Not that we are aware of. If you are looking for a VCT style baseplate that offers such functionality we suggest the Zacuto VCT Pro Baseplate combined with the Zacuto VCT Pro Tripod Dock. https://bhpho.to/2FWS9ic https://bhpho.to/3893asP
