The light beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone from Countryman is a miniature lavalier microphone measuring only 0.1" in diameter. It features a 3.5mm locking connector and connects to select Tascam recorders with audio on the left channel. The B6 microphone provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 130 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable, combined with the ultra-thin diaphragm, ensures low handling noise. The tiny size, combined with natural sound pickup, makes the microphone easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
The included changeable protective caps (+0, +4, and +8 dB) provide moisture resistance and allow you to adjust the frequency response to suit different applications or to match other microphones. Each of the three omni caps has a different high-frequency response characteristic that controls the amount of crispness or sibilance (response at 15 kHz). This microphone ships with the +4 dB protective cap attached, which boosts the perceived amount of presence in your sound while leaving the lower frequencies unchanged. You can switch to the 0 dB cap in case of problems when using this microphone with high-frequency feedback.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Which one do you prefer B3 or B6?
A: It truly depends on your application. A B6 is great when you need to hide it into clothing or a wig for theater and show productions. B3's great for most standard applications such as interviews, plant mics, etc.
Q: 2. Is there a typo on the price? I checked lmcs web site and other sites and I think someone accidentally put an extra zero in the price. Id prefer to buy it from B&H instead of other resellers.

Q: 3. Do i need a source of power for this mike?
A: yes, you'll need to power the mic via a device capable of supplying phantom power
Q: 4. will this work with sennheiser EK 100 G3?
A: This particulr version features an XLR connection that requires phantom power. This is designed for connection to a mixer or recorder that features XLR inputs. Countryman does however offer this mic with a locking 3.5mm connector designed for Sennheiser transmitters. See B&H# COB3W5BSR
Q: 5. does this work with the zoom h1?
A: No it will not work with the Zoom H1 since this microphone has a XLR connection and the H1 does not. I use this mic with a ZOOM H5 and it works great.
Q: 6. Can this mic be used on a Sony UTX-B03 transmitter?

A: Yes, the B3 can be used for recording audio while filming a rainy scene.
Q: 9. Any issues with using the Countryman B3 with the Zoom H1n?
A: This version of the Countryman B3 has a locking 3.5mm connector which is compatible for Sennheiser wireless transmitters and will not properly connect to the input on the Zoom H1n. B&H # COB3W4BZP / MFR # B3W4FF05BZP is the same Countryman B3 Omnidirectional Lavalier Mic with standard sensitivity and a non-locking 3.5mm connector in black. It is listed as compatible for Azden wireless transmitters and will also work with the Zoom H1n. The mic does draw a lot of power so it will drain the H1n's battery quicker than other lavalier mics. As another option, you may want to consider the Countryman EMW Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone in black, which is B&H # COMEMWSFF05B / MFR # MEMWSFF05BD3. The EMW requires less power and is designed for use with digital recorders.
Q: 10. Does this mic have the W4 or W5 sensitivity?
A: Sensitivity: W5 (red band): 4.0 mV/PascalStandard gain for most general uses. The B3 is available in two sensitivity response specifications. This version is optimized to accurately capture speech without noise and distortion.
