Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this mic compatible with a Sony URXP03 receiver?

A: Microphones do not work with receivers. This microphone will work with most SONY wireless bodypack transmitters.

Q: 2. How long is the cord?

A: Cable:Diameter: 1.5mmCable Length: 1.5m

Q: 3. Can this Lav mic be used with the RODELink wireless transmitter?

A: I don't think so. It looks like it has a different locking connector than the Rode. The Rodelink has a new model out. To be certain I would call Rode.

Q: 4. What is the signal output port?XLR

A: It is not wired with an XLR connection. This particular microphone has an unterminated connection, which allows custom connectors to be wired to it.

Q: 5. Is the pinout compatible for Sennheiser or Sony?

A: The Tentacle Sync Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector is compatible for use with Sennheiser wireless transmitters.

Q: 6. Do they have this in a mini jack version, so I can connect it to my h1?

A: A Zoom H1 will not support the necessary power requirement for a Shure WL93. The WL93's condenser element requires 5+Vdc to operate whereas the Zoom H1's powered 3.5mm input provides only 2.5 volts of plug-in power. To ensure compatibility with your H1, you will need to select another plug-in mic that either has a condenser or MEMS style element with a lower power requirement or has a dynamic element requiring no power.

Q: 7. Is the TA5 Connector Wired for the new Servo Lectrosonics Transmitters?

A: Yes the Voice Technologies VT500ECO TA5 Connector is wired for the new Servo Lectrosonics Transmitters.

Q: 8. how do you use this mic when recording to say a tascam 70d???

A: The Shure WL93-6 features a 4 pin female connector (TA4F) designed for connection to a Shure wireless system transmitter only. This version will not connect to a recorder such as the DR-70D. The Shure SM93 is the same microphone and ships with an XLR preamp that can be powered by a recorder that offers XLR mic inputs such as the Tascam unit.

Q: 9. What is the Max SPL for this microphone?

A: Unfortunately Tentacle Sync does not provide the max SPL spec for their MIC01 model.

Q: 10. Is this mic compatible with a Shure wired model PGX1? The PGX1 has a 4 pin connection.

A: This microphone is compatible Shure wireless systems, including the PGXD1.

Just received this and used it a couple times. It sounds good. Plugging this into two different Tascam recorders and no issues. I'm a little concerned about how thin the cable is but I'm sure it will last since I do take care of my gear.

You can't beat the quality of this mic for its price. Outstanding! We have another one of these, but the one we just received seems to have a more narrow pick-up pattern despite it still being omnidirectional. Not a huge issue for us, but just know that in advance.
