I didn't know what I was missing all these years getting along with guillotine trimmers. This thing is fantastic! Super well made, square, slides through paper and laminate with ease. In fact, it's just fun to use.


I am mainly trimming 5 mil and 10 mil laminate sheets, and it does so very cleanly, with little effort. It can cut very narrow strips. It never folds down the edge of the laminate like a guillotine trimmer sometimes does. And it is easy to view the edge I am cutting. Love it.

This trimmer has saved me so much money that it has basically paid for itself. It's incredibly precise, and I can shave off fractions of a millimeter with it. You can make perfect cuts quickly. One thing I really enjoy about this trimmer is that the strip holds down prints securely so you can make clean cuts without holding them down with much pressure. As the blade rolls by there is also a rubber roller that presses down the strip. I've used this to cut pages for small books, make cards, and cut out prints. You can also use it to make clean cuts in sheet film in a darkroom if you need to. I have not had any issue with scratches with this trimmer (that is one thing I was worried about). You can also easily lift up the clamp strip as you are placing your print to prevent scratches if you want. I have done this occasionally when working on projects that are more critical such as when I'm preparing prints for people. This many months in, the grid does not show any signs of wear and everything slides smoothly. The cuts I'm getting are incredibly clean and square, and I've cut everything from heavy art papers, laminated signs, thick paperboard, and corrugated board (for packing prints) and it's done a great job for everything I've used it with. The base of this trimmer is heavy and it has sticky rubber feet to hold it in place. If you appreciate quality and have handled nice equipment, you will appreciate how this is built. I'm glad I spent for it. It was worth it.

The absolute perfect tool for cutting down my fine art prints. I use an 80lb paper so it's pretty thick and this slices through like butter. The perfect cut every time. I don't know why I waited so long to buy this tool for my art studio.

Lot of photo trimming for portfolios, restoration, framing, and competition along with plain paper and card stock. Nasty problems were rough edges, chipped coating on photo paper, paper pulls while cutting. Locals specializing in modelling portfolios and advertising all using 2-bar Rotatrim. Pricey but totally worth it. Cuts are razor smooth and predictable without any drama. Paper is automatically held down during cut and never had a sheet slide out. Setup is easy and can trim to amazingly thin curls for squaring. Probably outlast me but wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
