The Ui24R from Soundcraft is a 24-input, remote-controlled, fully recallable digital mixing system, housed in a rack-mountable, road-rugged stagebox format. With built-in, dual-band Wi-Fi, cross-platform compatibility, and the ability to be controlled by any connected device via a standard web browser, the Ui24R offers a full-featured, flexible remote mixing solution for a wide variety of live sound reinforcement applications.

Q: 1. Does this have a built in metronome? can you quantize the audio as well to tighten up the tracks?

A: Yes to the metronome. The Livetrak records audio, not MIDI data, so you cannot quantize an audio waveform (that I know of) The unit is simply amazing and I use it to record podcasts on location as well as recording bands. The trick is to make sure your input levels are steady at 3/4 of the meter (VUFS) and do the final mixing in your DAW.

Q: 2. Can I connect my studio monitors from the xlr outputs to the trs balanced cable?

A: If your active studio monitors have a 1/4-inch TRS balanced input, you can use cables such as these: Pearstone PM Series 1/4" TRS Male to XLR Female Professional Interconnect Cable (10'), BH #PEPMTRSXF10.

Q: 3. Is there a control surface that works with this mixer.i know it's software controled. I have the ui12. it's just one looks for a fader:)?

A: Soundcraft only recommends using software and the app designed to go with it. Their tech department could not suggest a physical control surface.

A: If you are referring to a clock that tells time, then it does not.

Q: 5. Using this as an audio interface with StreamYard and Skype... guests hear an echo on theor end, but don't hear one from me. I don't hear the echo live, but do in recording. Any ideas? Using a MacBook Pro. Mic plugged into Input 1. Computer plugged into Input 7 (USB 1-2).

A: You will not be able to easily configure a mix minus to send via USB.

Q: 6. Which router would you recommend for use with the Ui24R?

A: You would be able to use any dual brand router with this Soundcraft Ui24R 24-Channel Digital Mixer / Multitrack USB Recorder with Wireless Control .

Q: 7. What can be said about the clock accuracy on this unit? I own a Zoom R16 and have also worked with output from their other recorders. Loading to my NLE, there is always large drift over an hour recording (e.g. a full second+) I'm hoping this is better?

A: Thank you for your question. I spoke with Zoom directly and they do not have a measurement for clocking accuracy but they did say that the improvements over the R16 are vast and you should not have any noticeable drift

Q: 8. Does it have Bluetooth connectivity?

A: There is no Bluetooth connectivity on this unit, but if you are looking to connect a smartphone for call-in's, you can do so with the included 3.5mm TRRS cable. Simply connect this cable from your smartphone into the 3.5mm channel 7/8 input, and the Zoom LiveTrak L8 will put the caller in the mix and create a mix-minus back to the caller.

Q: 9. Does this have the same incompatibility issue with AMD processors as the L-12?

A: As stated in the specifications section of the L-12 page on our website, operation is not guaranteed with CPUs from Atom, Celeron or Pentium series or CPUs made by AMD.
