Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I thought the X system had the shutter in the lens. How can a lens without a shutter work on this camera?

A: Hasseblad XCD lens would have an internal shutter, but the camera is also capable of using its electronic shutter.

Q: 2. Hi. I would like to buy this adapter, but does it fully compatible to Nikon D7100 and D800 bodies, using Carl Zeiss Plannar 80 T* lens? How may I set apperture and speed using vintages Carl Zeiss lenses with Nikon DSLR? Via camera body or lens?

A: The hassy lens has a manual setting for the aperture, the camera needs to go on automatic or shutter priority. I used it with my Nikon D800, it will be heavy with the lens and you need to keep an eye on dust. The fitting will not be precise, it will either be loose or too tight, if you are the hands on fixer, you can file a bit the connectors of add grafers tape to make a snug fit and that wont make it rattle. Focus is all manual.

Q: 3. What would be the equivalent focal length when mounting my 500mm Hassy lens on my A77ii?

A: 750mm

Q: 4. The reviewer states that the camera's shutter and not the lens's shutter is used. Can you provide additional operating details?

A: The leaf shutter has to be open in order to use this adapter.

Q: 5. Will it adapt a Hasselblad 80mm lens to a D7000 with full focus range

A: Yes, the FotodioX Pro Adapter for Hasselblad V Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera will allow you to use a Hasselblad 80mm lens on a Nikon D7000 with the ability to focus to infinity.

Q: 6. What's the lens crop factor ?Any lens vignette ?Is there a lens lock switch to prevent lens falling out of the adapter ?

A: I would suggest dropping crop factor. Calculating what the Angle of View is for a format you are not using does not make sense if you do it all the time. It is far better to learn what the mm lengths are for normal-wide-tele for the sensor you are using. Since the mm of a lens does not physically, change you can then tell at a glance what the perspective will be. But to answer your question, since you are going from a larger film format 63 x 63mm, to a smaller digital format, 43.8 x 32.9mm, the perspective change, or crop factor is 1.4. Lens vignetting will depend on the lens. The wider you go the greater the chance. However, we do not know offhand of any lens that would vignette with this set up. Finally, as in all lens mounts that are not screw-in, there is a catch you must release in order to dismount the lens.

Q: 7. Can the tripod foot be unbolted from the mount adapter for hand-held use?

A: We are not aware of it being removable.

Q: 8. Does this Hasselblad to Nikon adapter have 45 or 30 degrees click stops for every rotation ?

A: There is no mention of click stops with this device. We are of the opinion that the lens rotates freely once unlocked.

Q: 9. Does the Hasselblad V lens need to be stopped down manually to the desired aperture before pressing the camera shutter? The V lens also need to be cocked before taking the shot, correct ?Any detailed usage instructions would be appreciated.

A: Its a nice quality adapter in terms of materials, but it is not a smart adapter in terms of technology. You dont need to cock it but you have to adjust your aperture manually and the use the GFX curtain shutter.

Q: 10. Will this adapter work on the X1D?

A: Yes it will.
