Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I would like to try using the Cokin Graduated Neutral Density Filter Kit for P Series (B&H# COGNDKP Mfr# CH250). Is this adapter I would need to use with my B&H purchased Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens? Thank you in advance!

A: Yes, the 82mm adapter ring is the appropriate size for the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens.

Q: 2. Will this adapter ring work on A Series holder?

A: No it will not. The original A series will only go to 62mm. This ring is much wider that an A holder as the A filters are only 67mm wide themselves.

Q: 3. I have the Cokin P series with a different brand (K&F Concept) 58mm adapter however it does not fit my Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX lens. These were a birthday gift and I am not sure what size to purchase to make my filter system work. Please advise if this will fit my lens.

A: If you have the Cokin P series filter holder, then I would recommend the Cokin P adapter ring. If you have lenses that have 58mm filter threads, then the Cokin P Series 58mm Adapter Ring (P458) would be the correct accessory to connect your lens to the filter holder you own. However, do note, the Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX lens you list above has 52mm filter threads, not 58mm filter threads, and the above would not be correct for the lens you indicate. You would need the Cokin P Series 52mm Adapter Ring (P452), B&H # COARP52, for the Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II AF-S DX lens.

Q: 4. Can you use this with a step down ring for a 72mm lens thread?

A: Yes, you will also need a step up ring from 72-82. Click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809647-REG/Sensei_sur7282_72_82mm_Step_Up_Ring.html

Q: 5. Will this adapter also fit the Format Hitech system? I have both the Cokin P holder and the Hitech 85mm holder and would like to use the same adapter on each holder.

A: I don't think so, At less it cannot directly connect it into the HiTech Holder. It may need another HiTech convertor ring 85mm down to 77. This ring cannot directly connect into my Lee holder.

Q: 6. The Formatt Hitech 85mm rectangular filters say they are compatible with this specific product, however, this product's specs say it only holds 84mm rectangular filters. Is the discrepancy important? What gives?

A: The Formatt Hitech 85mm rectangular filters will fit in the Cokin 84mm filter holder. There is enough wiggle room. Besides, what is a silly millimeter between competitors?

Q: 7. I already have a Cokin kit of ring adapter/filter holder/filters for a 67 mm lens.I bought recently the Sigma 10-20mm wide angle lens for Canon (with a 77mm diameter) and was wondering if I can use the (67mm) holder that I already have and just buy a 77mm ring adapter?Or do I need to buy the kit (holder and adapter)?Thank you.

A: Yes, you can still the same holder. You will just need a different adapter ring for the appropriate size filter threads of your other lens.

Q: 8. Is this Cokin P Ring compatible with the Cokin Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder?

A: Yes, the Cokin P Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring (52mm) B&H # COARP52 is compatible with the Cokin Evo Aluminum P Series Filter Holder B&H # COCBPE01.

Q: 9. Will this adapter work with a Formatt Hitech 85mm holder?

A: Yes, Cokin P Adapter Rings may be used with the Hitech 85mm Aluminum Modular Filter Holder.

Q: 10. Is this the correct filter adaptor for a Tamron 24 - 70 mm with a USD 82?

A: Yes, If you are using a size P holder this is the adapter ring for an 82mm filter mount. Be aware that at a full wide angle you may find a slight vignetting on the corners of the frame
