The UAP-AC-HD-US Wave 2 Enterprise Wi-Fi Access Point from Ubiquiti Networks is a scalable enterprise access point solution designed to be easily deployed and managed. It supports the 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi standard with speeds of up to 1733 Mbps in the 5 GHz radio band, and up to 800 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz radio band. The Wi-Fi system offers simultaneous dual-band operation with 4x4 MIMO technology for each band. Install the UAP-AC-HD-US access point inside or outdoors (covered) using the included wall or ceiling mount kits. Once installed, the dual PoE compliant Gigabit Ethernet ports make it easy to connect the AP to the network without the need for a standalone power source.

The Wi-Fi system includes UniFi Controller software that can be installed on a PC, Mac, or Linux machine within the network, and is easily accessible through a standard Web browser. Using the UniFi Controller software, an Enterprise Wi-Fi network can be quickly configured and administered, without any special training. Real-time status, automatic UAP device detection, map loading, and advanced security options are all seamlessly integrated in the system.

Use the RF environment functionality of the UniFi AC HD AP to detect and troubleshoot nearby interference, analyze radio frequencies, choose optimal AP placement, and configure settings.

Advanced RF performance and configuration features include spectral analysis, airtime fairness, and band steering.

Use the configurable reporting and analytics to manage large user populations and expedite troubleshooting.

Wireless Uplink functionality enables wireless connectivity between APs for extended range. One wired UniFi AP uplink supports up to four wireless downlinks on a single operating band, allowing wireless adoption of devices in their default state and real-time changes to network topology.

Easy customization and options for Guest Portals include authentication, Hotspot setup, and the ability to use your own external portal server. Use UniFi's rate limiting for your Guest Portal/Hotspot package offerings. Apply different bandwidth rates (download/upload), limit total data usage, and limit duration of use.

All UniFi APs include Hotspot functionality:
• Built-in support for billing integration using major credit cards
• Built-in support for voucher-based authentication
• Built-in Hotspot Manager for voucher creation, guest management, and payment refund
• Full customization and branding of Hotspot portal pages

A single UniFi Controller running in the cloud can manage multiple sites: multiple, distributed deployments and multi-tenancy for managed service providers. Each site is logically separated and has its own configuration, maps, statistics, guest portal, and administrator read/write and read-only accounts.

The UniFi Controller can manage flexible configurations of large deployments. Create multiple WLAN groups and assign them to an AP's radio. Each WLAN can be VLAN tagged. Dynamic VLAN tagging per Wi-Fi station (or RADIUS VLAN) is also supported.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the 3 pack come with the PoE injectors? The posted answer seems unclear. They say Yes, but later says its the 5-pack that has no poe injectors. Which is it?

A: Just to clarify for others, I ordered this 3 pack... • Comes as 3 individual regular retail UniFi boxes • Includes the POE adapter in each box • Is the updated model that supports 24V & 802.3af/A

Q: 2. how many linear feet can the system cover ?

A: This would be highly dependent on the obstructions of the signal. So it would vary from situation to situation.

Q: 3. Which model of POE injector comes with the UAP-AC-HD to provide the PoE+ 802.3at / 48V, 0.5A power supply requirement?

A: Per Unifi's Quick Start Guide for this item, the included PoE injector is the Gigabit PoE* (48V, 0.5A) with Mount Bracket (white) which matches up with their SKU of "POE-48-24W-G" which matches up with our SKU of BH# BPOE4824WG. Per Ubiquiti's website, there is no white version of the PoE injector with those specs.

Q: 4. I have an existing UniFi access point installed in the ceiling. I know this one has a smaller footprint. Will it leave holes left that need to be filled or will this new unit cover the existing holes from the previous access point?

A: I had to patch a hole when I installed mine after replacing it with the UnFi LR AP

Q: 5. Ubiquity pro access point. Will it work automatically once it’s plugged in using adaptor. Or do y have to have special ubiquity software

A: You will need to use the Unifi controller software in order to configure the access point.

Q: 6. Our building can have upwards of 250 devices at a time to support for Internet access. Can this AP handle 250 devices at the same time?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-HD-US Wave 2 Enterprise Wi-Fi Access Point can support up to 500+ users.

Q: 7. What is the test date for the AC HD that you have received compared to the purchase date?

A: The test date on mine was 6/16/18 (order date was 10/30). Like the other poster said, I'm pretty sure the hardware has stayed the same, but this one did include the metal U-PRO-MP (I'm pretty sure the last one I bought, a year or two ago, came with the same plastic mounting ring the rest of them have).

Q: 8. How does unit work for guest once installed

A: The Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-PRO UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System BH #UBUAPACPROUS guest network features works like other systems do. You can create a separate SSID for guests, it can be open or have a password and it also allows you to create a greeting pag which is useful if used in a business/retail environment.

Q: 9. Any reason to get a AC-Pro instead of an AC-HD besides the cost? If I do not mind the cost, is the HD better? Using in a home.

A: For home use, the pro model is sufficient.

Q: 10. Since this has POE+DATA out, can you connect a CloudKey2 to this device? It appears so by the specification.

A: It's recommended to use the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Cloud Key Gen2 Plus with a network switch rather than directly with an access point like this Ubiquiti Networks UAP-AC-IW-US UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System.

I have purchased these from other companies there were always issues w/ missing components (POE power) and required additional purchases and cost. NOT w/ B&H it's all in there!!!

Purchased again this week.

I replaced a Meraki MR26 with this UAP-AC-HD. I know, 802.11n vs 802.11ac. But the MR26 is a really nice, well-built AP by a leading enterprise manufacturer. Problem was, I kept having clients disassociate from it, coverage was okay, but not great, etc. Swapped in this UAP-AC-HD and it's been a night and day difference. Clients that used to disconnect and have issues streaming media, etc. now have zero issues and coverage is better. Throughput tests also show a marked improvement, but that's expected with 802.11n vs 802.11ac. Initial set up of a new Unifi Controller can take a little time (although the Cloud Key makes this really simple), but once your controller is set up adding new APs like this one is a breeze. Plug it in, click Adopt, done. Super easy setup. Stats provided via the controller are really helpful, provide easy to view charts/graphs, etc. Overall really great product at an unbeatable price point. Not missing anything after replacing my enterprise name brand wireless system.

Ubiquiti products just work. Easy to setup with just a little more effort than the typical consumer product, but much more reliable and strong connections.
