  • Each bodypack transmitter uses a locking 3.5mm connection to secure its SR-M1 lavalier mic. A short press of the power button mutes the mic between takes.
  • The UWMIC9’s Auto Scan feature searches among 96 frequencies to find the cleanest available frequency for you, while the built-in infrared sync makes linking the transmitter and receiver a snap.
  • Easy-to-understand menus and controls, along with backlit LCD displays, allow you to make quick adjustments under varying lighting conditions.
  • The TX9 transmitters can accept mic or line inputs and offer three selectable levels of wireless transmission power. The highest setting is designed to overcome interference in busy RF environments or when the subject is further from the receiver; lower settings conserve battery power.
  • A headphone output on the receiver enables real-time audio monitoring, especially useful if your camera lacks a headphone output.
  • The receiver’s output can be switched between mono and stereo modes. In mono, the two mics are mixed together and recorded as an identical mono signal on both the left and right channels in your camera. In stereo, each mic is kept separate and recorded discretely to the left and right channels in your camera.
  • Power is supplied via AA batteries for up to 6 hours of battery life.
  • The system offers a maximum distance of up to 330’ and supports up to 8 mics at once on set.

  • For man-on-the-street interviews or if you need to pass the mic between several people, you can add the HU9 wireless handheld microphone.
  • Adding the TX-XLR9 plug-on transmitter allows you to connect any handheld microphone of your choice or a shotgun mic for wireless booming. You can even apply 48V phantom for condenser mics.
  • A wide selection of optional output cables (available separately) allows you to connect the receiver to smartphones and tablets via Lightning or USB Type-C ports, or the TRRS headphone output. There is also a mini-USB cable for action cameras, a USB Type-A cable for computers, and a 3.5mm to dual XLR-M cable for professional cameras.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Curious if people are actually using the included lav mics? My initials tests were quite disappointing compared with a better mic, but maybe others have better experience? It seems they need a lot of gain to get any audible signal at all.

A: You can upgrade the mics to higher quality mics if you choose. Look for locking 1/8" mics that are wired for Sennheiser. That said to upgrade to a mic that is a significant upgrade you are looking at mics that are over $200-350 each, two of those is the same price or more than this entire system.

Q: 2. can you include free waterproof case with two lav mics?

A: The case is not included, but for an additional price I would recommend the SKB iSeries Waterproof Case for Sony UWP-D Two-Channel Wireless Bodypack Mic System (Holds: URX-P03D & Two UTX-B03), BH #SK3I09074BH3.

Q: 3. Will this power a DPA 4060 lav mic?

A: Yes the Saramonic UwMic9 will power a DPA 4060.

Q: 4. Can a 2nd receiver be purchased for a 2 camera set-up?

A: Yes it's a Special Order item. BH #SAUWMIC9RX9 and you must order it in the same frequency block as the one you have or it will not work.

Q: 5. can you tell me which version of the receiver do you sell? (V.2.6 Rel 682101A or V.2.7 795101A) ???

A: We don't seem to have either one. The Saramonic receiver we sell is MFR #UWMIC9RX9. The other numbers you sent don't bring up anything in our catalog.

Q: 6. Can you use other, better lav mics with this system? If so any recommendations?

A: Yes, you can use different lavalier microphones with the Saramonic UwMic9 wireless transmitter. The transmitter uses a 3.5mm locking connector and can be used with any of the lavalier microphones that are compatible with Sennheiser wireless transmitters since the wiring for Saramonic is the same. Please note that Sony wireless microphones use the same locking connector, but the wiring is different so Sony mics are not compatible. A few examples of compatible mics are the Sennheiser ME 2-II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (B&H# SEME2II), Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters (B&H# COB3W4BSR), Tram TR50 - Omnidirectional Lavalier Condenser Microphone (B&H# TRTR50BSETP), Countryman EMW Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Flat Frequency Response for Sennheiser Transmitters (B&H# COMEMWFBSR), and Point Source Audio Series8 CO-8WL Omnidirectional Waterproof Lavalier Microphone (B&H# POCO8WLXSEBE). Please feel free to contact us by phone or through live chat if you would like personal assistance in selecting a microphone best suited for your specific application.

Q: 7. I have 2 sets of Saramonic UwMic 9 microphone system. One of the transmitters has version V2.6 Rel. 682101A the second transmitter has version V2.7 Rel. 795101A. So when I was testing I see a slight difference between these versions, where version V2.7 has more clear and higher sound during recording. Question can I upgrade by myself somehow version V2.6 into version V2.7? And second question on B&H which version does you selling???

A: We are selling the latest version. You may want to contact Saramonic directly: Saramonic: Tel: +86-755-89385066 Email info@saramonic.com

Q: 8. Can I have more than two transmitters with one receiver?

A: This is a dual receiver system that can be paired with only two transmitters.

Q: 9. Is the windscreen removable?

A: Yes. It is a separate accessory that comes in the box.

Q: 10. Is there a portable pa speaker that you recommend for this microphone?

A: We have many portable PA systems and speakers. A good staring point for a battery powered PA speaker that has very good quality sound is the Bose S1. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1405056-REG/bose_787930_1120_s1_pro_multi_position_pa.html You may want to give us a call at 800-606-6969 so that you can discuss options with a Pro Audio associate.

I am new to this stuff, but it has been simple to use the mics. The little bit I have used and edited the audio was fantastic.

Before you get all bent out of shape. These Mics do sound better than my Sennheisers. Why? Senns are made with High Frequency Roll Off. BUT! If you have excellent sound from your cameras. Then it just sounds muddy and overly bass. However! Using these Mics the sound is properly balanced with my gear. No need to have to use a Mixer or post. Using the Senns makes my clients say. Wow - to low. Using the Saramonics simultaneously gives the client what they want. Do not think all is bliss. The instructions Suck - Big Time. Never mentions that you have to activate the power for the 2nd Mic set in the Master. AND! The power consumption is GROSS! Even at minimum power the Receiver cuts out in about 3 hours. Using Eneloops no less. Plus - they are WAY TO HEAVY! In the real world those are called - characteristics. Do they work - Excellent. Are they quiet - YUP! Easy to set up - Sort of. Sound quality - great for high quality gear. Recommend Senns for cheaper gear - like DSLRs.

Although we are still in the initial phase of getting to know and use these mics, they are working great. They provide good sound capture and are easy to use. I recommend them.

I was nervous since I hadn't heard of Saramonic before, but the sound is very good, the build is solid and having two receivers in one body is great for interviews. Two thumbs up!

I'm on a budget so I researched several of the lower price setups and got this one. I'm totally happy with it. It's easy to use, the sound is really good, and the battery life is better than expected. If I need more wireless mics in the future, I'll buy more of these.
