Designed for 4K, 6K, and 8K productions, this 6-stop, 4 x 5.65" Schneider RHOdium Full Spectrum ND Filter features a 64x filter factor that provides a 6-stop exposure reduction. It helps you control IR contamination within the full visible and into the near infra-red spectrum. The neutral density material is sandwiched between two layers of white water glass, which prevents subtle color shifts that can occur with regular ND filters.

With the ND material sandwiched between glass it is protected from being affected by cleaning and polishing of the outside filter glass, which makes it an excellent choice whether you are a rental house or owner/operator. RHOdium Full Spectrum ND filters are the first to be tested using a tristimulus scan, which is a more critical color measurement method than previously used.

  • 1.8 neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to shoot with a wider f/stop for shallower depth of field.
  • Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.
  • Attenuates infrared light, as well as visible and UV wavelengths, to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased IR passing relative to visible light.
  • Constructed from Schott water-white glass for increased optical clarity.
  • Padded pouch included for storage and transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will it effect Z8 or Z9's drop-down protection curtain in anyways if I keep this clip-in filter installed? Thanks.

A: No, the Kolari Magnetic Clip-In ND Filters for Nikon Z-Mount do not interfere with or affect the Z8 or Z9's drop-down protection curtain and you can keep this filter installed.

Q: 2. Does the front thread turn when adjusting the ND level or stay static?

A: Yes, the front ring rotates when adjusting ND on the Schneider True-Match Vari-ND MKII Variable Neutral Density Filter (82mm).

Q: 3. How does it compare to B+W Vario ND 1-5? What is the front size? B+W's front size is designed at 86mm for less vignette. Even so, I did find vigenette at 24mm on my 24-105 lens. How about the color shifting? B+W is shifting green on 1-3 stops.

A: The front filter thread of this filter is 82mm. Most filters will begin to vignette to some degree at 24mm. Color shift is nearly always present when using variable ND filters, but how much varies between filters.

Q: 4. Is there a case available for these yet? Looking to clip somewhere between 3 and 7 of them to my belt for gimbal work.

A: No, there is not currently a NiSi branded case for the NiSi Full Spectrum FS ND Drop-In Filter for ATHENA Lenses (7-Stop). However, you could consider using a case like the ARRI Camera Assistant Belt Pouch (Large), BH #ARK20013016, or the WANDRD D1 Fanny Pack (Wasatch Green), BH #WAD1FPWG2, to carry several of the filters.

Q: 5. is it compatible with the Sony FX3?

A: Yes, the Kolari Vision Magnetic Clip-In ND Filter for Sony E-Mount Full Frame Cameras (3-Stop) is compatible with the Sony Fx3.

Q: 6. Hi there! Does this filter have hard stops or does it rotate full 360? Thanks!

A: The B+W Tru-Match Vari-ND MK III Variable Neutral Density Filter does not have hard stops. The markings on the ring are merely reference points of how light or dark the filter will become when turning the ring.

Q: 7. Will the lens hood of the Sony 70-200 GMII fit with this filter installed?

A: The Schneider True-Match Vari-ND MKII Variable Neutral Density Filter (77mm) front threads are 77mm. Since the filter does not expand in the front ring, you can keep the lens hood on the Sony FE 70-200mm f/2.8 GM OSS II Lens attached.

Q: 8. Does this fit A7C?

A: Yes it can fit the Kolari Vision Magnetic Clip-In ND Filter for Sony E-Mount Full Frame Cameras (3-Stop) but you need the Magnetic Mounting Plate for it to work in the a7c and the a1. That part at this time is only available direct from Kolari Vision.

Q: 9. Does this filter stop at each end of the adjustment or does it rotate past the end of each adjustment?

A: There are stops at each end on the B+W True-Match Vari-ND MK II Variable ND Filter.

Q: 10. Does it fits the Sony a7lV ?

A: Yes, the Kolari Vision Magnetic Clip-In ND Filter for Sony E-Mount Full Frame Cameras (3-Stop) is compatible with the Sony A7IV.

I actually bought these Full Spectrum LEDs to provide artificial daylight for an indoor bird habitat. They're adequately bright, and according to their advertising, they have a higher CRI, they use less energy, they generate less heat, and they'll last longer than the CFLs that I've used previously. After about two weeks, I can say, So far, so good.
