The eyecup blocks stray light, which creates glare and would make it difficult to see the image, from entering the camera's viewfinder.

This eyecup can be used as a replacement or as a spare, and it is thinner than what originally comes with the camera, which makes it easier to view for users that wear eyeglasses. At the same time, the thinner eyecup still protects your glasses from being scratched.

I have purchased I believe 3 of these now and I love them. They lay flat in my bag, don't snag on anything, the view is great through them and aesthetically for me they're worth the money.

This is a replacement eyecup for the Fujifilm X-T3. It’s smaller than the eyecup that comes with the camera, but it works fine and is less prone to getting ripped if you are using a camera bag with a very snug fit.

I bought this for my Fuji X-T3 once I found that Fuji uses the same eyecup size for all X-T series cameras. It fits perfectly, protects my glasses, and doesn't stick out as far as the original eyecup that came with the camera. It fits better in my bag.

When I first received my XT-1 I loved everything about it, and thought that would be the same for every XT series camera, but once I began upgrading I found that the one thing that I did not love was the new eyepieces on the newer camera bodies, although nice, they just were not as nice as the XT-1's and could not be carried in and out of my bags as the eyepiece on my original XT-1had. I was really happy when I found I could replace my new cameras eyepieces with this one.. perfect, perfect, perfect. This stays flat, does not lift away from itself when going in and out of bags as the eyepiece that came on the new bodies.. I'll definitely get another.

I purchased this for my X-H1 camera. I also have an X-T3/X-T2 and I'm going to get another for those camera. The Small Eyecup has a raised ring surrounding the viewfinder opening. With this change, the back of the camera has much less drag against clothing when hanging around your neck (and in extracting from the bag).

I think this is an acceptable alternative for people who wear glasses and who don't like having to depress the rubber shade with pressure on their glasses.

If you are an eyeglass wearer, and if you are used to compressing the shade material against your glasses, this offers a marginal improvement in eye relief. I still have to use my off hand to cup over the top of my eye to shade the viewfinder in bright overhead lighting situations where light leaks into the viewfinder from the gap between my eye and glasses.

I bought it because it is smaller and it can make the camera fit into my bag better

Something always bothered me about the X-T3 and I realized that it was the new deeper eye cup. I started with X-T1, then X-Pro2 and now X-T3. This original eye cup is what should be standard on the X-T line. Now my X-T3 feels right with a slimmer profile.

I had the long cup on my camera xt-2 before hand, and it would get in the way of anything as I put it in and out of my bag. It eventually began falling apart for all the knocks and friction it kept getting.
The intention was to get a better glare free view of my viewfinder, but it stuck out like a huge pimple.

When I finally replaced it with the small cup, I realised that the long cup doesn’t make that much difference to reducing sun glare etc. the small cup is fine, AND no more bumping into anything as I pull the camera in and out of my bags. Streamlined fit and has now far outlasted the long cup. Built very well, and fits on the camera like it was part of the actual camera.

Slides out easy peasy to wash or clean and to access the glass of the viewfinder.
Clicks back in again and again always making a solid firm hold, every time.

The long cup would always pop off, this one has never once popped off every!

Small cup all the way.

Bigger isn’t always better. It’s the way you use it ;)

Perfect fit, back to original feel and size in X-T1.

If you like to sling your camera on one shoulder or cross-carry, it's a good eyepiece. The standard eyepiece rubs against one's clothing and gets worn. This smaller one works better when carrying the camera this way. Highly recommend.
