Get wide-angle coverage for your full-frame E-mount camera without sacrificing low-light capability with the SLR Magic Cine 25mm f1.4 Lens. The shallow flange depth of Sony's E-mount system enables compact yet fast lens designs. This lens's bright f/1.4 aperture of this lens is ideal for low-light cinematography and compositions that require shallow depth-of-field. Inside this lens resides a 13-bladed iris which maintains smooth background bokeh, even as the lens is stopped down from its wide-open aperture. Other features found on this lens is a 52mm filter thread that won't rotate with lens focusing, and 0.8 MOD standard gearing on the focus and iris rings for interfacing with follow focuses and lens control motors.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi! What is material of this lens?

A: This is a well constructed lens which has a body made of mostly an aluminum alloy.

Q: 2. Will I get a crop on my Sony a6600 ? Looking for a 35mm look so trying to decide if I should get there 25mm and get around 37mm with the crop

A: All lenses you use on the A6600 will be subject to the 1.5x crop factor. This will be around a 37mm lens on the A6600.

Q: 3. What is the focal length equivalent?

A: The Fujifilm X Mount system is for cameras with an APS-C sized and a 1.5x crop factor. This lens will have the equivalent of a 37.5mm field of view.

Q: 4. what's the difference betwen the microprime cine lenses and the cine II lenses of SLR Magic? I mean, I know the size and weight thing, but I mean in terms of image quality (vignette and aberration at wide open). Thanks!

A: The SLR Magic MicroPrime lenses are built up around the optics of their Cine Lenses. Optically there may not be a difference, the difference in this case would be that a set of MicroPrimes will be uniform in design for being able to be quickly switched on a rig.

Q: 5. Can this lens be adapted to work on MFT bodies like the Panasonic GH5?

A: This lens cannot be adapter to work on an MFT camera. However SLR Magic makes a 25mm lens you could use instead. https://bhpho.to/3nOxHmZ

Q: 6. What is the minimum focus distance on this 25mm lens? and the 35mm?

A: The minimum focus distance on the 25mm lens will be around 10 inches. While it will be around a foot on the 35mm, B&H # SLRMMPC35.

Q: 7. Does this come with a pouch?

A: A pouch is not included.

Q: 8. Should my focus ring be more accurate? When my focus ring is set to 7' focus is actually at 5'. When I set to 4' focus is 2' 8 . I do tend to measure my manual focus lenses and this is my first I feel I can't trust. I do feel infinity focus seems a bit soft, is it possible I'm not able to get infinity focus if the actual focus distance is shorter then marked? Wondering if I should return... anyone else test the focus ring accuracy?

A: In my decades of being a motion picture camera assistant, this was a situation the we had to look our for. The problem is either the lens is out of collimation or the lens mount flange depth is off. If both are correct, Infinity is Infinity and 5' is 5'. I would suggest that it is the lens and that you should exchange it if you bought it from B&H less than 30 days ago.Contact B&H Customer service to do so. B&H Customer Service Contact: https://bhpho.to/2caRE5L. If the lens comes back and you still have an issue or you purchased longer than 30 days ago, take or send the lens and the camera to a camera service center.

Q: 9. I have some SLR Magic lenses and the breathing during focus is pretty significant. How is it on this specific one?

A: It's less pronounced, but still present.

Q: 10. Is this a fully manual lens or does ir communicate with the fujifilm X-T4?

A: Yes, the following lens is a all manual lens.

The build on this lens feels solid. It has an all metal body, and the glass seems to be of great quality. The picture is really sharp at T/2.0+, and with the T/0.95 aperture setting, the picture has a little bit of softness, but not too much, it still looks pretty sharp. I actually like this lens way better than the Rokinon cine lens equivalent, and seems to be around the same price.

I have a pretty small lens package, and most of them are this line of HyperPrime Cine Lenses from SLR Magic. This is by far my favorite. It is downright gorgeous. Would recommend to anyone.

So far this has been my mostly used lens, my primary lens. Am still shooting with a Panasonic AF100A camera and this lens add easy control for aperture and focus. I got it for cheap also.

This is a seriously nice lens for the money. My ONLY regret is that I did not buy this as part of the B&H bundle with the SLR Magic 10mm T 2.1 Cine III Lens. This would have saved me the price of a nice dinner!

Thanks B&H ... nice pricing!

Got this for my GH4 to help alleviate it's low light struggles. Works like a charm. Couldn't be happier. However, I will say that actually using T0.95 should be used sparingly - if ever. When they say shallow depth of field, they really mean it, as finding perfect focus is not for the impatient. No worries though, 1.4 and beyond work wonderfully, and if you are patient enough (and absolutely need it) 0.95 can save you from even considering adjusting the ISO.

Using it on my original BMPCC and it works really well.
There is only one downside (and it doesn't even really have to do with the lens itself) but it is that the crop factor coming from the sensor turns this 25mm into what is basically 55mm.

Other than that, the bokeh is very pretty. The focus ring and aperture are both nice and smooth to use, but I wouldn't suggest going lower than 1.4 (unless you have to) as the image starts to get a little soft and it might be a bit more difficult to pull focus then.

All-in-all, this is an awesome lens and I really recommend it!
