Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do we need to have a computer for this to work ?

A: If you want to record, yes. If it for live broadcasting through an amp, the. I would imagine not.

Q: 2. Wondering how well this mic prevents plosives w/o a pop filter?

A: Not as well as some. You will probably want to use a pop filter.

Q: 3. hello i just buy a zoom 4h and a set of two lavaliers... but i need the adapter to plu in the lavalier to the zoom, questiion is this the accesori i need?

A: You do not need any adaptor. Both Zoom 4n and FR-335K have the same XLR connectors.

Q: 4. Is the MXL 606 compatible with the Leica Monochrom camera? If so, what accessories may be needed to connect to the Leica?

A: This microphone cannot be directly connected to this camera. Microphones like these are designed for connection to mixers and interfaces. Please let us know your application or project details. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh@bandh.com

Q: 5. Would the phantom power from a Shure SCM268 (12v) power these mics?

A: I believe so I use this mic on a professional video camera and I use 48v phantom power and it works fine but I did some research and it should work fine.

Q: 6. Does this work on a Chromebook?

A: I contacted the manufacturer and confirmed that the Tempo SK mic is indeed compatible for use with a Chromebook.

Q: 7. The grill looks similar on both sides. If I wanted to use this mic as a drum overhead, how should I position it? Which side would face downward?

A: With large condenser mics u would point it with whatever side has either the logo or the cardioid pattern symbol on it.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with a MacBook ?

A: Yes it is. As a side note also the shock mount that is included doesn't fit the mic that you order. It's weird I know.

Q: 9. I recently purchased a zoom F4. When I plugged in one of my laveliers it seems only one side is working. So I plugged in the other lavelier and get the same result. To make sure it's not my headset , I listened to pre-recorded music. My headset are ok. So I also checked to make sure nothing is panned on the zoom f4. I haven't used my laveliers hardly at all over a few years. Then it was only once. Weird?

A: I would check and make sure you have mono mix on for the Zoom, and it's taking the XLR channels individually, not trying to do anything with a stereo mix which might have caused your one channel in headphones.

Q: 10. How can I use the mic,? I connected but no function

A: This is a condenser mic and needs phantom power from the mixer/pre-amp. If it does not work with it, then the product must be defective. With phantom power it should work

I have little to no experience with audio equipment, and i just wanted a decent microphone to experiment with. At this price this mic fits that bill, perfectly. It is possibly the greatest mic at this price point and if you are starting out it would be a great choice for vocals, guitar, percussion etc. It records all these reasonable well. The stand adapter it comes with is kind of useless on it own so keep in mind that you might have to look for something to hold it.

Well I didn't expect it to sound that great for only $ but when I plugged it in I couldn't believe how good it sounded! Sure it was plugged into a $800 dollar daking mic preamp and using a mogami cable which the cable by itself cost more than the mic but WOW! I ABed it to my AT4050 mic (a $500 dollar mic). The MCA SP1 did not have quite as much top end and has a bit of a peak around 250hz which needs fixing with EQ later but for $, I can't believe how similar it sounds to high end mics. If you know how to EQ and mix and are on a budget or just need more mics. This is great. Is is a small diaphram condenser even though it is in a large condenser case so it will work better for instruments like guitars, toms on drums and any source where you want a warm sound. You can get many better mics for vocals but for most other things this is great. You won't believe how good it sounds for $45 bucks! I bought 8 of them.

I've been into recording since 1979 used a lot of microphones my favorite a sinnheiser but this mic preforms great on vocals ,especially bass vocals when EQed properly. Also does well on snare drums .high end is lacking some but overall for the money a great deal on a good product.

Wow, I'm impressed by the sound quality for the price. Never expected to get something that good for under $. Packaging however was... bad. It was broken and is kind on the minimal side. Roughly, I understand that I was buying a mic not a package, but it left some marks on the mic that I was not so warm about. But nothing to change the sound.

Nothing beats this Mic for the price. I use them in my webcasting studio @) and they are superior to the SM58 we used to use by leaps.

I purchased this microphone to use in a home recording studio to record myself for the purposes of practice and make audition tapes. So far it has accurately captured the sound my instrument (double bass, acoustic guitar). After reading a lot of reviews I chose this microphone because it seemed to represent a good value and would be an inexpensive microphone to invest it while I learned some recording basics and figured out my DAW. I don't have very much experience as an engineer, but I do have years of experience in the studio as a professional musician, so while I can not compare it to many other microphones, I can say I am pleased with the sound I am getting in my humble little studio, especially for the price. If you are like me, on a budget and not really sure where to start with condenser mics you can't go wrong with the MCA SP1. Good value.
