The V67G HE from MXL is a cardioid, large-diaphragm condenser microphone designed for recording vocals in commercial and project studios. Compared to the original V67G, the HE (Heritage Edition) features a different finish and a variety of accessories.

The V67G HE utilizes the same transformer-coupled output and solid-state, Class-A FET circuitry as the original V67G. Its cardioid polar pattern maximizes sound rejection from the rear of the mic, providing a directional focus that reduces room reflections in the recording. Its 30 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response ensures full-range transduction of vocals in a variety of genres and styles. It features a 32mm capsule with a 6-micron, gold-sputtered diaphragm, and can handle a high maximum SPL of 130 dB. Phantom-power compliance and an XLR output make it ready for use in the studio.

The supplied shockmount decouples the mic from a stand, reducing the pickup of rumble. Also, included with the V67G HE is a metal mesh pop filter, ideal for minimizing plosives during vocal recording sessions. The provided aluminum flight case ensures the mic's safety during storage or transport.

Q: 2. Hello is this microphone pc friendly ? could i plug it to computer?

A: This microphone has a standard 3-pin XLR connector on it. To connect to a computer, you will need an audio interface. There are many interfaces on the market that are all-in-one, with microphone preamps. In short, no, this microphone will not connect straight into a computer.

A: This is a condenser mic and needs phantom power from the mixer/pre-amp. If it does not work with it, then the product must be defective. With phantom power it should work

Q: 9. Should I go for this or the MXL 990 for general studio use (vocals, instruments, ect.)?

A: Both mics will work well and specs are almost the same for the two models, but the MXL 990 is a bit more rugged and would be the better option for general studio use.

Q: 10. does it come with a stand for the mic so you don't have to hold it?

A: There is a shock mount included with the mic that will attach to any 5/8'' threaded mic stand. An actual mic stand is sold separately. Here's an option, BH #AUMS5230F.
