Lewitt Lct-240 Pro Cardioid Condenser Microphone (black)
- Product Code: ga42001
-
Made to provide pro-level sound quality for singers, live streamers, and musicians producing at home, the black Lewitt LCT-240 Pro is a side-address condenser microphone with a compact stand mount, a foam windscreen, and a transport bag. With its 0.67" diaphragm cardioid condenser capsule, the LCT-240 Pro is capable of polished sonic performance on vocals and acoustic instruments with minimal processing. Plus, it can take punishing SPLs before distorting, so you can also use it on percussion, drums, and speaker cabinets.
The mic's cardioid polar pattern is most sensitive to sound directly in front of it while rejecting a significant amount of ambient noise behind the capsule. The mic imparts a lift in the treble range to enhance crispness and clarity. As with most condensers of this type, the LCT-240 Pro requires 48V phantom power and can be connected to an XLR input on your mixer, audio interface, or outboard mic preamp.

Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Will this mic work on a DSLR?
A: Yes. I use it with a DSLR as well as a basic consumer level camcorder. Youll need a 3.5mm to 3-Pin XLR Female adapter cable though.
Q: 2. how to switch on /off switches as fingure tips can’t reach them
A: Hello, I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the switches. I suggest looking into a rubber thimble used for turning pages, as those can help increase friction and move the switches to the desired positions.
Q: 3. What size deadcat would fit over this?
A: We do not have any deadcat-style windshields that are sized to fit a large diaphragm condenser microphone like those that the Lewitt LCT-44-WX Windscreen is designed for. However, we do have the Bubblebee Industries The Piece-A-Fur Wind Protection - Black (B&H # BUBBIPAFBK) which is 14.1 x 4.3" (36 x 11 cm) and can be used to make your own deadcat-style windshield to fit over the LCT-44-WX Windscreen.
Q: 4. Where is this mic made in ?
A: China
Q: 5. Would this pair be good for recording a classical orchestral harp (47 string)? Reducing pedal noise and breathing would be ideal
A: Yes, the matched pair of LLewitt LCT 140 AIR Stereo Pair Small-Diaphragm Instrument Condenser Microphones to record a classical orchestral harp.
Q: 6. Does this come with the accessories for the microphone?
A: Included with purchase of the Lewitt LCT 441 FLEX Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone are a shockmount, pop filter, windscreen, and transport bag. A necessary accessory that is essential but not included would be an XLR cable. Each product page has a useful feature called "In the Box" which shows all items included with purchase. This feature can be viewed on the right side of the product page when the "Overview" tab is selected.
Q: 7. Is this mic gain hungry? Or does it have good amount of output? I am going to use Zoom H5 with this, and because it doesnt have the greatest preamps in the world, I need something with good power. (Good reference will be Nt1 or At2020, which I currentoy have. compare to them, is this mic at simiar level or noticably quieter?)
A: No. This Mic is NOT power hungry; its Sensitivity, at 14.6 mV falls in the middle category: Lewitt LCT 140 Performance Maximum SPL 135 dB SPL Peak Sensitivity 14.6 mV/Pa Dynamic Range 115 dB A-Weighted Equivalent Noise Level 20 dB A-Weighted Condenser microphones typically have a higher-than-“normal” sensitivity, at least as they compare to dynamic microphones, which usually have a much lower sensitivity. Depending on the application, For live/stage applications the sensitivity may present a problem. For Studio applications, usually less of an issue. Higher-sensitivity (condenser) microphones can be helpful in lower-SPL applications, such as recording dialogue or vocals. Most small diaphram condenser mics have medium sensitivity. If higher sensitivity (less gain hungry), you may want to consider other mics as shown in links below. Here is another Mic (albeit more expensive) to Consider, has higher gain: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1365779-REG/se_electronics_se_8_small_diaphragm_condenser_microphone.html/specs Performance Frequency Range 20 Hz to 20 kHz Maximum SPL Cardioid: 159 dB SPL Peak Impedance Cardioid: 110 Ohms Load Impedance 1 Kilohms Sensitivity Cardioid: 25 mV/Pa Signal-to-Noise Ratio Cardioid: 81 dB Equivalent Noise Level Cardioid: 13 dB A-Weighted
Q: 8. Is it possible to buy these as a matched pair?
A: No, unfortunately not. Lewitt does not offer any of their large diaphragm condenser microphones as a matched pair.
Q: 9. is connector swivel ?
A: The connector is a 3 pin XLR and it does not swivel.
Q: 10. Could I simply use the Lewitt LCT-240 mic with a RØDECaster Pro to record a podcast? Is a 48V phantom power supply required as well?
A: Hi Maria, Yes, that microphone would work. Phantom power is indeed required, which your Rodecaster has.
