An ideal lens for portraiture, the GF 110mm f/2 R LM WR from FUJIFILM is a short telephoto, 87mm-equivalent prime for the G-mount GFX camera system. Its bright f/2 maximum aperture affords extensive control over depth of field for working with selective focus techniques, and also benefits working in low-light conditions. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm also contributes to pleasing bokeh quality to suit shallow depth of field imagery. The sophisticated optical design employs four extra-low dispersion elements to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for a high degree of clarity and contrast. Additionally, benefitting handling the lens is a linear autofocus motor that is both quick and quiet, and an internal focusing mechanism limits the overall lens length during use as well as maintains consistent image quality throughout the focusing range. The lens is also dust-, freeze-, and weather-resistant and features a manual aperture ring for intuitive exposure adjustment as well as a Command position for camera-based control over the aperture.

The optical design incorporates four extra-low dispersion elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the aperture and focusing ranges for notable clarity and color fidelity.

A linear AF motor is used for quick, quiet focusing performance and an internal focusing mechanism maintains the overall length of the lens during operation and also produces consistent optical performance throughout the focusing range.

Physical aperture ring allows for intuitive adjustment over exposure settings, and incorporates a C (Command) position to permit camera-based aperture setting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do you know what the diameter of the lens hood is?

A: The FUJIFILM Lens Hood for GF 110mm f/2 R LM WR Lens has a front diameter of 4 and 1/8" (107.4 mm).

Q: 2. Is the filter thread metal or plastic on the Fuji GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR?

A: The FUJIFILM GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR Lens has a metal filter thread.

Q: 3. What are the specifications / size of UV FILTER for 110mm gf Lens - this information is required for ordering the lens

A: The filter size 77MM, which is in fact in the specs listed by B&H.

Q: 4. What is the aperture equivalent of a 35 mm system compared to f/3.5 of this lens?

A: The aperture of the FUJIFILM GF 50mm f/3.5 R LM WR is the same as for any 50mm f/3.5 lens--it's a ratio of focal length to effective aperture diameter, so there is no difference between different formats, only different focal lengths.

Q: 5. How to calculate MF DOF for crop and FF MF?

A: I suggest forgetting the word crop and crop factor. Please just go by what size your imager is, film or digital. On line you can find DOF calculators. Here is a good one. https://bit.ly/2AhsdN9Enter the sensor size, the lens mm, the aperture and the focus distance and you will have your Depth of Field. As a motion picture camera assistant, I calculated DOF dozens of times a production day. If I can do it, so can you.

Q: 6. Does this vignette when using an 82-77 step down ring and the Formatt Hitech Firecrest 85mm square filters (with the new style holder)?

A: Yes, the step-down ring 82-77mm will create vignetting on the FUJIFILM GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR Lens which is equivalent to the angle of view of an 18mm lens (35mm). The vignette will increment if a square filter holder system is attached in front of the lens.

Q: 7. Is there a FAST (wider aperture) version of his lens, like f/1.2 or f/2.8?

A: I'm sorry, no. There is not a faster version in this focal length.

Q: 8. Just received the lens. Straight out of the box, while not attached to the camera, the elements within the lens clunk back and for the when tilting the lens from end to end. Is this happening with all of your lenses as well? It’s as if the glass isn’t secured inside the lens and is free floating down the focal length.

A: Yes, that is a normal occurrence with this and other lenses.

Q: 9. I am mainly a flowers, landscape, sunset kind of guy. I will jump into the Fuji medium format very soon. What 2 or 3 lenses would be best for my prefered subjects?

A: The FUJIFILM GF 23mm f/4 R LM WR Lens, B&H # FU234RWR, would be a good lens option for landscape images and sunset images of landscapes. To photograph close-up images of flowers, a macro lens such as the FUJIFILM GF 120mm f/4 Macro R LM OIS WR Lens, B&H # FU1204LMWR, would be a good option. For regular images of flowers (not necessarily close-up images), the FUJIFILM GF 63mm f/2.8 R WR Lens, B&H # FU6328RWR, would be a good option for your usage needs.

Q: 10. How large are the pixels in the Fuji GFX-50?

I've been shooting professionally for over 15 years now, and in spite of it's lofty price point, I've never worked with a finer lens in all my years of shooting portraits. Brilliantly tack sharp in the center of the frame, beautiful bokeh, awesome subject isolation, fantastic weather sealed build quality, etc. It's sublime! The only real downside is AF speed an accuracy, not a huge deal in static subjects like portraits, but I would not want to use this lens in a pressure situation. This is an issue with medium format cameras in general. But in terms of pure results, I've never worked with a better lens.

LOL! the Headline will confuse you if you don't know the Medium format to Full Frame conversion. I love this lens and want to take all picture with it from Landscape to Portiats to Horse racing to Macro photography. Well, I try!

This lens is an essential to any GFX user . This is the ultimate portrait lens currently offered for the GF lineup. Although heavy , the speed of the lens and subject separation is unmatchable. Highly recommend!

This lens is one of the reasons I purchased a GFX 50S originally and now use it on a GFX 50R. I can't say I have ever shot with a sharper lens or one with better bokeh. It is large and somewhat heavy but for the work I do that is not really an issue. The build quality is outstanding with all metal construction and engraved markings. Top notch. With this focal length and the large sensor you can achieve subject separation even at moderate distances. In terms of its field of view, similar to an 85mm lens in the full frame world, it is highly versatile. I've shot with the the Nikkor 105mm f/1.4 and Sony 135mm f/1.8 GM lenses and both of them are truly outstanding but for the work I do they tend to be too long in many cases.

Focus is reasonably fast and quiet. There is some noise but not much. Far quieter and more refined than the excellent GF 63mm f/2.8 which I also own. As far as I am concerned this is the best lens I have ever owned in this field of view range.

Very sharp, beautiful color rendering for portrait. A large lens to carry around, but worth it for portraits. You can feel the floating elements moving, which is ok.

Got what I expected an outstanding lens with results at the level of what I'd previously seen. Superb image quality. Heavy, but I don't mind.
