Q: 1. How much weight can this hold? Do you think it can suspend properly a Westcott Zeppelin 47 with the Bowens mounting bracket, the focusing rod, a Bowens speed ring and a Phottix Indra500 TTL?

A: It's not quite as simple an answer as you may like. It depends on how you angle the pivoted extension. If it's angled down a 90 degree angle and a lightbox is simply hung from the spigot, then it should support pretty well any modifier and light. But if you angle a heavy modifier beyond 90 degrees down and therefore have to rely on the friction/clamping of the two small wing nuts, you may find it frustrating, ie. difficult to hold a position. Hand tightening the wing nuts probably won't create enough grip on the spigot and you'd probably have to use a wrench or pliers to add leverage to the tightening. I bought this drop down pin for, as the name implies, it's ability to drop down a light modifier and simply hang it on the spigot. If you keep to that use, or use it with a light weight modifier/light combo which should be ok to angle at other than 90 degrees, then you should be fine. I hope this helps.

Q: 2. What transport case is recommended for these since the legs don't detach?

A: C stands with permanent legs not a turtle base are an issue for travel. The stand is about about 53 inches x 22 inches. B&H does not carry a case that large. The C stands with legs that come off are much smaller in the width. Those types give you some case options.

Q: 3. What adapter do I need with this c-stand to use with an Alien Bee 800?

A: You need this stud , Avenger E650 6.0" Pin with Collar B&H # AVE650

Q: 4. Are there any casters for this stand?

A: Tether Tools makes a caster stand that I use with this C stand. You can place a sand bag right in the center of the caster stand for stability.

Q: 5. How long is it?

A: That's a rather personal question :) (Monty Python)I think this is the same pin that I am lholding right now. There are a couple of versions.Total length is 3-3/4 . Actual round pin above the hex is 2-3/4 . Most baby pins are usually 2-4 long.If you need a longer one, I think Matthews has a 6 with a collar, so it doesn't slip though the gobo head, when used upside down. Good to have one, or two in the grip kit.

Q: 6. Can the 40 arm hold a Mola Setti and Strobe?

A: Hi Sean,I use the 40 arm to hold a 22 Mola Demi on an Einstein strobe. The Avenger stand and arms are built like tanks, so I unless your strobe weighs a ton, I can't imagine the arm or clamp would be challenged. Don't forget sandbags for the base if the arm is extended. Best regards.

Q: 7. What adapters would this stand need to attach a speedlight and a small octobox (26 ) on the arm?

A: If the 26 softbox does not have a stand mount on its speed ring, then you can use the Manfrotto Lite-Tite Swivel Umbrella Adapter B&H # MA026.

Q: 8. Can I located the stands on stairs ?? I'm not sure if this could be possible thanks.

A: No. We suggest c-stands with sliding legs. Please review the following item Savage 40" Riser C-Stand with Sliding Leg (Black, 9.6') BH #SACB600 • MFR #CB-600 https://bhpho.to/3BHsDcD

Q: 9. Will the Matthews Pin with Collar - 6" also work with this stand?

A: Yes a Matthews 6" Pin with Collar can fit the grip head in this Avenger kit.

Q: 10. How much weight can this arm support at its minimum extension?

A: I typically use this boom with Bowens monolights and anything up to a 40x60 softbox, which combo weighs around 12 lbs. I would typically have between 4 and 5 feet boom length from the fulcrum point to the head (implying around 20 - 30 of extension of the internal bar), with around 18 counterbalancing length on the other end and between 20 - 25 lbs hanging from the hook (I would use an Impact CT40 MB turtle stand or similar for the base). There's almost no deflection in the boom in those circumstances and the whole rig is rock solid. I would fairly confidently suggest that with less extension than I use, the fulcrum point more centered and with similar counterbalancing weights, you shouldn't have any problems. The rig will manage higher weight with ease - it's a very solid boom

I considered buying the lighter and cheaper version of this but I'm glad I didn't. These are heavy duty and will last forever. I use them to attach Uni400 monolights to superclamps.
