The beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Standard Sensitivity, with Detachable 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sennheiser Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.
Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to a Sennheiser Evolution Series (G2 and G3), ew 100, ew 300, ew 500, or SK 1093 wireless bodypack transmitter.
Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Standard, for most uses.

Q: 1. Which type is this MKE2 Gold mic ? EW or 2-4 / 2-5? I know MKE2 has several types such as EW, 2-3, 2-4 and 2-5, what is the difference between EW and 2-x version? ( it seems EW has blue tag and 2-x has gold/yellow one, is it true?) And I want to use MKE2 on Rode Wireless Go, so which type should i choose?
A: This version of the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is the EW version which is wired with a 3.5mm TRS locking connector for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters and other wireless transmitters that use the same wiring configuration and this mic has a black finish. The MKE 2 Gold is also available in beige finish and with different connectors for compatibility with other wireless transmitters. In addition to the 3.5mm locking connector, the MKE 2 is also available with a 3-pin LEMO connector or with a pigtail connector. The mic itself is exactly the same regardless of the color or the connector. Be aware that the MKE 2 Gold requires 7.5V of plug-in power supplied through the mic input of the transmitter or device it will be connected to. The Wireless GO transmitter supplies up to 2.8V of plug-in power and also has a non-locking 3.5mm TRS input so the MKE 2 Gold is not compatible for use with the Wireless GO transmitter.
Q: 2. Is this microphone compatible with the Zoom H4N? Thanks!
A: This mic will work with the Zoom H4N. The mic has a couple of versions. Powered by battery or phantom power. The H4N has phantom power but will handle the battery version as well.
Q: 3. Will this mic work with the packs for Pyle PDWM8900?
A: The cable connector is not compatible with the Pyle PDWM8900.
Q: 4. Is there an option to connect it to a XLR input camcorder? Also will it work with my phone's 3.5mm headphone port?
A: A Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter, BH #ROVXLR, will allow you to plug this mic into a camera with XLR input, which would be able to provide 48 volt phantom power to the mic. To connect this to a smartphone, you would adapt the end to TRRS with a Rode SC4 3.5mm TRS Female to 3.5mm Right-Angle TRRS Male Adapter Cable for Smartphones, BH #ROSC4. The smartphone will power the mic in this case.
Q: 5. this model work with lectro ssm, right?
A: Yes it will.
Q: 6. This MKE2 is giving me distortion even though my levels are far from clipping. I got this mic with the Sennheiser AVX bundle and recently shot a training video. My levels peaked around -24 to -12db, however, during playback I can hear high frequencies distort. It gets much noticeable once I process the audio and raise the level. I normally record straight into camera and also into an external recorder with this lav mic, however this issue keeps recurring. Why does this mic keep distorting my sound? Any help or tips would definitely be appreciated!
A: There are a number of things to consider when trying to source the cause of distortion. The question is where is the distortion occurring? Is the mic element overloading due to high SPL, or is the transmitter clipping because of improper gain staging? If the receiver is outputting line level and the input on the camera or recorder is set to mic, that may be the cause. Also, the gain settings on the preamp of the recording device needs to be set accordingly as it is a major part of the audio chain as well.
Q: 7. Would the MKE 2 be a good match with the DJI Mic? I'm not sure if the locking jack will be a problem.
A: No, the MKE 2 is not compatible for use with the transmitter for the DJI Mic Wireless Mic System. High-end lavalier mics are not a good match. We have tested a variety of lavalier mics and the ones that we have found to work best are the Saramonic DK3G Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with 3.5mm TRS Connector (B&H # SADK3G), the RODE Lavalier II Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone (B&H # ROLAVALIERII), the Shure MOTIV MVL Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Smartphones (B&H # SHMVL35MM), and the Saramonic SR-M1 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone Cable with 3.5mm TRS Connector (B&H # SASRM1).
Q: 8. I found this mic at the video you guys made for Tascam DR-10L Digital Audio Recorder. This unit operates with aaa battery 1.5V However this mic requires 3 to 10V???
A: This is ultimately a question for Tascam. You need to know the voltage provided by the DR-L10. Do not assume it to be the same as the supply voltage. It is true that the COS-11 BP (Belt pack) runs on single AA, but the voltage supplied to the mic is actually multiplied within the belt pack.
Q: 9. Is it possible to put with the RODELink Filmmaker Kit the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold even if it is equipped to supply 7.5 V via a Sennheiser wiring configuration and the Rodeling has a 4 V plug-in power supply?
A: The operating voltage of the Sennheiser MKE 2 Gold Series Subminiature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking 3.5mm Connector & Accessories (Black) is 7.5V. And the transmitter in the Rodelink Filmmaker Kit provides 3-5V plug-in power. Considering this; Even though the connector types are the same and compatible, the voltage is not enough to be able to power the MKE2 to pass a loud enough signal to be able to hear the microphone in the output audio using the Rodelink Filmmaker Kit.
Q: 10. Is this the same connector that will fit the sennheiser G3 transmitter?
A: This Sanken COS-11D (MFR# COS-11D-HWM-TRS-BE) has the correct wiring for the Sennheiser Evolution wireless G3; trs 3.5mm male locking connector.
