The Really Right Stuff Collar Foot Package for Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens replaces the original manufacturer's collar and foot. This replacement lowers the height of the lens and gives more support and stability when rotating the lens within the collar. This accessory also adds a double dovetail design to the foot, which is compatible with most Arca-type clamps. With a double dovetail, other Arca-type accessories can also clamp on top of the tripod foot.

The Collar Foot Package is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, and has been Type II black anodized, which makes it resistant to abrasions and corrosion. If an Arca-type clamp is not present, a 1/4"-20 threaded female socket is located on the bottom of the foot, so the lens can screw onto a tripod head.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this collar fit the Nikon Z 180-600mm lens?

A: The Really Right Stuff Collar Foot Package for Nikon AF-S 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR Lens does not fit the Nikon 180-600mm lens. Currently no one makes a replacement foot or collar for the Nikon 180-600mm lens but Kirk will be releasing one soon.

Q: 2. Will this work on the Fujifilm GF250mm lens ?

A: No, only for the 200-500mm.

Q: 3. How do you replace the foot. On my friends 200-500 Nikkor. It appears that the original foot/collar are one piece.

A: Hi Candice! This piece is only intended to replace the foot on the Really Right Stuff LC-A14, which is meant to replace the original Nikon collar on the 200-500mm f/5.6E. If your intentional is to replace the original foot and collar from Nikon, this would be the correct item to get: https://bhpho.to/3baHsrd

Q: 4. Will this work on the new Canon RF 800mm f11 lens?

A: This is made specifically for the Nikon lens. This will not work on the Canon RF 800mm f/11 IS STM Lens. Unfortunately currently there isn't a tripod collar or foot for that Canon lens.

Q: 5. Does this work well with the D5600? Looking to upgrade my glass but do not want to get full frame yet

A: Yes this Nikon 200-500 lens works perfectly well on the D5600.

Q: 6. Does it work perfectly with the Nikon D3200? what are the cons if there is any? Thanks!

A: I used the 200-500 with a Nikon D3 and it worked perfectly. My major complaint is that it is not internal focus and zoom so it extends out quite a distance at times. Sharp and fast focus.

Q: 7. Do the lens (Nikon 200-500mm) fit to my Nikon D90? Ore shut I buy a new camera?

A: Should fit on D90. Have just used lens on 10 day African Safari and is fantastic!!!!

Q: 8. Does it allow an easy rotation of the focus ring when the lens is mounted in a gimbal head (and so the foot is on the left side of the lens, not below it)? I mean is there enough clearance to put the hand between the foot (when its on the left side of the lens) and the lens itself in order to rotate the focus ring? Also when the foot is below the lens, does it allow the lens to be perfectly aligned with the camera+battery grip when set on a flat surface (on a table, for example)? Id like to avoid that the lens becomes lower than the camera+grip because if it happens the mount of the lens will be stressed and besides the front of the lens can be damaged hating the surface. Ive found that the stock collar with an archa swiss plate turns the camera with the grip totally aligned when on a flat surface and Id appreciate if it replicates with another collar. Finally, have you tried the Kirk collar? How would you compare that with the Really Right Stuff one? Im trying to make my mind between both. Thanks in advance!

A: If I read your question correctly, you want to know how the collar performs on a side-mounted (sidekick style) gimbal. The RRS collar is better than the Nikon, but it does not allow for a smooth rotation. The RRS collar is superior to the Kirk collar as well, but you will need to use a bottom mount (full) gimbal otherwise the collar will feel rough as your rotate the lens about.

Q: 9. How long is the foot ?

A: The foot on the Really Right Stuff LC-A14 PKG is 4.3" (10.9 cm) long.

Q: 10. Is this lens compatable with the Nixon D5100?

A: To further answer this question, If you want to shoot at other than f/5.6, the E electronic diaphragm only works on cameras introduced since 2007. These cameras are the D4, D4s, D3, D3s, D3P, D3x, Df, D810, D800/e, D750, D700, D610, D600, D300, D300s, D7000, D7100, D7200, D5500, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100 and newer.

QD Attachment point is perfect for camera strap, then instantly one can place lense on their tripod or monopod, without unscrewing a connection point.

This adapter has been manufactured just like all other RRS products. Great machining practices. Stable operation and quality machining. This is more stable than adding a foot to the collar that was supplied with the lens. I love it.

I am pleased to say Really Right Stuff made the necessary collar for my Nikkor 200-500mm lens to match the Arca style ball heads on my tripods so everything is interchangeable!!

This, like the other RSS ARCA telephoto feet, is beautifully machined and worth the price. Highly recommended as addition to the lens.

I purchased this collar foot package to supplement my Wimberley MH-100 monogimbal head and Robus RCM-439 monopod. Excellent build quality that you expect from RRS.
