Unfortunately, this item has been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase new. (The newer FDA-EP18 would fit the Sony SLT-a58, but not the SLT-a57.)

A: No, Sony FDA-EP18 Eyepiece Cup is not compatible with the Sony a7R V Mirrorless Camera. The viewfinder is larger and the eyesensor was placed on the bottom of the viewfinder. The correct eyepiece for your camera is the Sony FDA-EP19 Eyepiece Cup.

I should have been paying closer attention in the first place, Then I would'nt have had to replace it any way. Trying to pack a gallon in to a space for a quart. Yes, in my camera back pack! Works well, but over priced. The only difference that I could detect from one that was half the price are some small bumps on the side of the eye cup that fits against the body of the camera. That did not prevent the original from coming loose. 5
