A: In my opinion, yes, I believe it would work nicely with a light box for viewing 35mm slides.This loupe has a very nice size viewing area. Additionally, this has built in LED lights that can be turned on/off. Given your application with a light box, I suspect you would opt not to use the built in LEDs. Hope this helps.

A: The Carson PO-25 3x MiniBrite Lighted Magnifier has an LED light and cannot be changed. However, since it is an LED light chances are it will never need to be changed.

A: No, plastic.

A: This product uses three General Brand SP389 batteries which should be easy to change. They are B&H #GB389 if you need replacement batteries.

A: The Carson Lume Series COB LED Magnifier with 2.5x / 7x Magnification is 9.7" long from the bottom of the handle to the top.

A: No batteries or charging required as this is not an electronic device.

Q: 10. Can the LED light be switched OFF with the magnifier in the extended position, or is it automatic ON/OFF with extension/retraction only?

A: To activate the LED light on the Carson PO-55 5x MiniBrite Pocket Magnifier, you may slide down the protective sleeve until you hear a click, which will reveal the lens and activate the LED light. If you do not want to use the LED light, you can slide the protective sleeve down, but do not click the unit into place or expose the LED light.

Reading small print. It is great for checking camera settings in dark situations. I like this product so well I am going to order another one. 5

I have used it for viewing my DSLR sensor when cleaning it. It has a bright light and is easy to use. 3X magnification is not bad and is usually enough, but I wouldn't mind if it had a bit more. The dedicated sensor loupes are somewhat better, but much more expensive, so this item is presently doing what it's supposed to do. I'm sure I will probably use it for many other things also, where I need a small, handheld lighted magnifier with a clear view. For the money, it's great. 5
