This rugged, white Lavalier Windjammer from Rycote is designed for use with lavalier microphones worn on the outside of clothing. It reduces wind noise (up to 12 dB) and clothes rustle,and is suitable for interviews or news broadcasts located outdoors in windy conditions.

This Windjammer features an elasticized opening and a foam insert to secure the microphone within it. For maximum wind-noise reduction, the windscreen that was included with your lavalier microphone can be used as well.

A: This furry windscreen is made for lavalier microphones, up to 4.5mm X 15mm, so it would not accommodate the Chippy EM172, which we do not currently carry. I would recommend contacting Rycote for the specific furry windscreen for that mic.

A: The ECM CS3 will be too big fr these.

Q: 6. If you mount this item like pictured, what is the point of the velcro? It has no way of latching. It seems like it is supposed to cinch around the mic part itself, but then there's way to much room in the front. Also, am I supposed to leave the foam on?

A: The wind protection works best with the foam in place. When I tighten the velcro around the barrel and then pulls it back into the notch between the barrel and the body, I get a very nice and snug fit.

A: Yes. It fits the larger capsule of the ECM-55 perfectly!

A: The Rycote Lavalier Windjammers may be too small to fit the Lom Mikrousi Lavalier Microphones since they are intended for use with mics that have a 4.5mm diameter and the Lom mic has a 6.8 mm diameter. A better option may be the Bubblebee Industries Windbubble Miniature Imitation-Fur Windscreen - Lav Size 2, 35mm, Black (B&H # BUBBIL02B) which will fit with the foam windscreen underneath. The Bubblebee Windbubble fits mics that have a diameter of 5 to 8 mm.

A: Yes, the Rycote Lavalier Windjammer is compatible for use with the Shure MOTIV MVL Lavalier Microphone.

A: Even though the MKE40 is a larger diameter lapel than the microphones the jammer is design to be used with,the elastic opening of the jammer is quite liberal and would go over the 40.
