The MDR-7506 is a staple within the recording, film and live arenas. Due to its low impedance and closed-ear design, these headphones do an outstanding job of cutting down background noise while providing plenty of volume in the studio or in the field. Additionally, the closed design helps eliminate headphone bleed when overdubbing in the studio.

The MDR-7506 is an over-ear design and is ideal for use with MIDI workstations, camcorders, or other equipment with less than powerful headphone amplification. The headphone has a foldable design, making it convenient to store or transport, and its coiled cable allows it to stretch and spring back into place whenever you need a bit more reach.

These are my first pair since way back in the 70's so I have nothing to compare them to. They are very comfortable and lite. I like to listen to music while I'm doing other tasks. I am very happy with them, but I have no other pair to compare to. For the price you can't go wrong with these. Nice Headphones. 5

These classic Sony headphones are without a doubt the best sounding and most comfortable of all the headphones and in-ear monitors I have tried, and being a freelancer in the post-production business, I have tried scores of them. There are more expensive headphones but there are none better. 5

A great replacement for the discontinued Sony MDR-V6. Not as flat audio response as the V6 but close enough for video editing work. These are durable, easy on the ears (after break-in period) and help me deliver a consistent sound to my clients. A true classic and a reasonable price. 5

This is my second pair of these Sony headphones (my first well-worn pair I gave to one of my kids, and she's still using them several years later). They're not as spacious sounding as my beloved Sennheiser HD600s, but they're much more portable, so perfect for travel, and the neutral sound is ideal for the kind of work I do as a music journalist. They're quite comfortable, too, and surprisingly durable given that you take some care with them. I haven't done a whole lot of comparison listening, but I've tried quite a few headphones over the decades and these seem to be an true bargain if you want an excellent pair of cans for less than $100. 5

The Sony MDR-7506 has long been a standard in the audio/broadcast industry - for a reason. It has excellent voice articulation, reveals any defect in an audio source and is light and comfortable to wear for long periods. It's reasonable price and inclusion of a screw-on 1/8 to 1/4 inch stereo adapter plug means its accessible to most and ready to go right out of the box. A long but coiled cord maximizes flexibility. And if something breaks - parts are available - or just get another one. It's NOT at the pricey end of the spectrum for professional cans. Nothing fancy, here and no bragging rights - It just works - VERY well. 5
