The beige B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Low Sensitivity, with Detachable TA4F Connector for Electrovoice Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.
Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to an Electrovoice 2000 Series or 2500 Series wireless bodypack transmitter.
Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.
Low, head miking for theater.
Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. I've plugged this in to my recorder via the Senal PS-48B-35H Phantom Power Supply that's listed as a recommended accessory for this mic, with 48V phantom power turned on. However, I'm getting a very very low signal from the microphone, peaking at around -32Db even with the gain on my recorder turned all the way up. Did I get a dud or is there something I've missed here?
A: So you checked the gain, have you checked the fader? Is their a pad setting switched on the recorder or the Senal? My last suggestion is to check the voltage of LR44 batteries. Maybe they're about dead. Try switching to providing phantom power from the recorder.
Q: 2. Do I need servo bias for Lectro SMQV?
A: Yes, the Lectrosonics SMQV Transmitter does have Servo Bias input, so you can use the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & Servo-Bias TA5F Connector for Lectrosonics Transmitters - with Accessories, Black (B&H # SAC11WNLSMB) instead of the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & Non-Servo TA5F Connector for Lectrosonics Transmitters (with Accessories, Black).
Q: 3. Would this work plugged into a zoom H1 or the RDELink wireless set? They have versions for each specific transmitter, but wondering how compatible the mic is.
A: Unfortunately this mic is not compatible with the RodeLink wireless system. In addition using the mic with devices other than the specified Sennheiser wireless transmitter is not guaranteed to operate and not recommended. Sanken does not currently offer a mic designed to be used with portable digital recorders via 3.5mm jack.
Q: 4. Does this work with Lectrosonics LMB transmitters
A: Yes this is compatible with Lectrosonics LMB transmitters.
Q: 5. hi i bought this one, and i wonder this mic work with sony d11 or d21 without pantom power
A: This Sanken COS-11D is designed to work with a Sony wireless bodypack transmitter. The mic requires 3 to 10V plug-in power which will be supplied by the transmitter. It will work with the UWP-D11 and D21 wireless systems.
Q: 6. No, Im sorry let me re-ask my question - I already have a UWP system and want to up grade to a Sony UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter. For one, the UTX series has a dual receiver meaning they can take in 2 frequencies, etc, UWPs need individual receivers for each transmitter, but the UTS series too, use TRS mic inputs, just like the UWP series, which can take the Sanken Cos-11 lavs. What would happen if I connected the TRS connector from the Cos-11D into a Sony UTX-B40 Wireless Bodypack Transmitter? Is the Cos11D exclusively for UWP series TRS connectors? (and Sennheisers?
A: This particular mic will work with the UTX-B40 transmitter. It will not work with Sennheiser.
Q: 7. Has anyone used this microphone in combination with the Tascam DR-10L's? I am looking to upgrade the microphones provided and this looks like it could be a good option.
A: I have not used this Tascam model with the Sanken COS 11D but have used it with the Tascam DR-40 and other professional recorders. It's a great sounding lav mic and easy to hide.
Q: 8. Does this work with the Track E recorder?
A: Unfortunately we have not tested E Track with this Sanken cos 11 Sennheiser lavalier. You can still purchase and tested for yourself we have a store return until Feb 1 2020
Q: 9. Will this work seamlessly with the Sony UWP-V1 wireless system, which uses the UTX-B2V Beltpack Transmitter?
A: Yes, the Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone is compatible for use with the transmitter included with the Sony UWP-V1 Wireless Lavalier Microphone System.
Q: 10. Since they don’t make a generic 3.5mm connector, can I cut off the Sony locking collar, and make it work on DSLR mic input?
A: The Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Microphone with Normal Sensitivity & 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony Transmitters will only work with Sony wireless transmitters. The wiring scheme used by Sony differs from that used by most other companies, but the Sennheiser 3.5mm connector is considered universal for nearly all non-Sony devices.
