The Tokina 50mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens with a PL mount and with focus scales marked in feet, provides an image circle that more than covers It provides an image circle that more than covers full-frame sensors and is designed to provide sharp images even when recording images at 8K resolution. This is a 50mm focal length, and shares the same form factor, lens gear position, focus rotation, and front barrel diameter as the other Tokina Cinema Vista prime lenses. This makes on-set lens changes a fast and efficient operation. It features a maximum T stop of 1.5, useful when shooting in low light situations or when you want to capture that exceedingly shallow depth of field look.

The 9-bladed iris provides round out of focus highlights for a natural looking bokeh. The lens barrel features approximately 300° of rotation from close focus to infinity; this gives you a high degree of precision when pulling focus. The lens is designed to minimize focus breathing, and features geared manual focus and iris rings. Markings on both sides of the lens barrel make it readable from either side of the camera. The lens features a PL mount and the front of the lens is 114mm in diameter with a built-in 1/4"-20 support foot that helps support the lens with the aid of an optional 1/4"-20 rod-mounted lens support (not included).

The 50mm T1.5 PL mount prime lens is capable of focusing images on a sensor with full 8K-resolution and features a 46.7 mm image circle, which easily covers standard-sized full-frame sensors.

The use of a 9-blade iris produces a smooth round appearance to out of focus specular highlights. The iris also produces a pleasing bokeh, referring to natural looking out of focus areas of the image. The iris is manual and features smooth movement without click stops for smooth exposure adjustments while recording.

The lens has markings on both sides of the barrel, making it easy to read focus and aperture settings from behind or from either side of the camera.

The lens shares the same front lens diameters and gear positioning on the focus and iris rings as the other lenses in the series, making lens switching quick and convenient. Additionally, the focus ring features approximately 300º of smooth rotation to help facilitate consistently accurate focusing especially when pulling focus during a shot.

Designed to minimize variations in the angle of view while focusing, a phenomenon known as focus breathing. This feature is extremely important while pulling focus, especially on static shots, where focus breathing is more noticeable.

The lens features threading on the front of the lens to accommodate 112 mm screw on filters. This feature allows the camera operator to add filters over the lens without taking up a filter stage in a matte box.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does this lens has any tripod mount capability?

A: This lens, like any similar cinema lens, is not normally tripod mounted. There is a 1/4-20 mounting foot but that is meant to be supported by a rod system that is attached to a camera. This provides necessary triangulated support. We strongly advise using the lens in this manner. We say this because if you attach the lens to a tripod with the foot directly and then mount a camera, ever a small one like a mirrorless, you will likely strain the lens and possibly damage it.

Q: 2. Do these lenses transmit exif data or metadata to camera?

A: No, the Canon 35 mm Sumire Prime T1.5 (PL Mount, Feet) does not support sending EXIF Metadata to the connected camera.

Q: 3. I need the PL mount kit for my Tokina ATX 50-135 (2017 version... not the last one). Do you have it? Thanks

A: At the moment we only have the mount kit for the new version of the lenses.

Q: 4. Will these workon the MAVO LF? It is full frame but 6k not 8k

A: At this time we do not carry Kinefinty cameras at this time, you will want to check with them regarding exact compatibility. That being said we can tell you that this lens covers a full frame sensor at up to an 8K image. If the camera has an EF mount we believe that it should work.

Q: 5. Can I use a speedbooster with these lenses if they are mft?

A: Yes, the Tokina 85mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens with MFT mount could be used with a speed booster.

Q: 6. Is the mount on this lens interchangeable? From PL to Sony E for example

A: yes but the only available mounts are EF or PL mount. the E-mount flange depth is too shallow for amount change you will need and E mount to PL mount adapter on any E mount camera

Q: 7. this lens can covered super 35 sensor without vigen image?

A: The Tokina 35mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens (PL Mount, Feet) supports up to full frame sensors. It would not vignette when using Super 35 sensors.

Q: 8. Is there lens data /I support?

A: The Tokina T1.5 Cinema Vista 5-Lens Kit B (ARRI PL) lenses do not have any communication with the camera body.

Q: 9. Does this lens work well with either of the Metabones Speedboosters and MFT/GH5?

A: If you have an MFT mount camera you should be able to use an EF to MFT mount adapter to use this lens. Keep in mind though that this is a fully manual lens, it will not take advanrtage of the electronic communication that a Metabones Smart Adapter offers. Instead I recommend the Mitakon Zhongyi Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens Turbo Adapter Mark II instead. It is a manual adapter.https://bhpho.to/2bG2xhx

Q: 10. Will this work on Arri Alexa Mini?

A: Yes, depending on which ARRI Alexa Mini mount you have, the Tokina 35mm T1.5 Cinema Vista Prime Lens is compatible with the Alexa Mini.
