Q: 1. Is it possible to connect an SDI-in and it simultaneously releases SDI -out and HDMI-out together?

A: Yes. Setting can be changed via usb control panel. According to manufacture you can connect an SDI-in and it simultaneously releases SDI -out and HDMI-out together with no control panel setting adjustments.

Q: 4. Will this unit convert 720p SDI in to 1080i SDI out?

A: Yes -- just tested it with 720p from my laptop, converting to 1080i on an HD monitor. This uses the scaler function.

Q: 5. Can this be used to take a HDMI output from an iMac or Macbook Pro into a BlackMagic ATEM 2 M/E?

A: No. 3G Sdi only. Use Freak Show for 4K

Q: 7. If I send HD SDI in to be converted to HDMI will it loop out the SDI signal to the SDI out?

A: Yes, the default setting is to send signal to both outputs whenever you plug into an input.

Q: 8. Can this scale a 1080i HD-SDI input to a 720p HD-SDI output?

A: Yes it can. It does cause some quality degradation, but it does well for the price point.

Q: 9. How many MD-LX can I daisy chain? In need to feed an HDMI signal to 6 TVs about 40' between each TV. I want to loop from one to the next via RG6 then drop of the MD-LX to each TV. Will that work?

A: In theory there should not be a limit to the amount used as it will re-clock the signal.

Q: 10. Will this convert an HDMI signal from 1080p to 1080i?

A: I'm afraid not. This product is just a Bidirectional Converter that will change SDI to HDMI and HDMI to SDI. It does not do frame rate conversions and scaling. These are great when you don't need scaling, look at the bigger decimator for that. But plug it in and it works. If you need to tweak settings or get creative with some routing their software works great, too. 5

Does it exactly what is needs to, bi directional both ways. Can do a little more than the bi directional BMD. Highly recommend, always keep in a DIT kit. 5
