Built with an aluminum housing and a lumen output as high as many full-sized flashlights, the silver TIP 2017 Rechargeable Metal Keyring Flashlight from Nitecore is small enough to carry on a keyring, so you'll always have it handy. It features a straight-to-Turbo option, recharges via USB, and comes with a multi-purpose clip for your pocket or hat brim, which also covers the switches to prevent accidental activation and protects the USB port from water and dust.

The TIP CRI 2017 employs a Nichia LED with a Color Rendering Index value greater than 90, which mimics sunlight for vivid, accurate colors and reduced eye fatigue. Its main brightness settings — ultralow, mid, and high — are accessed by clicking the mode button. You can turn on the light straight to turbo by holding the mode button for a full second. Choose between two operating modes: Daily mode shuts the light off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity to save power, while in Constant-On mode, the light stays on until you turn it off. You can switch from Daily to Constant-On with a simple press of the power switch.

The TIP offers big-light technologies such as Advanced Temperature Regulation to prevent overheating, precision digital optics technology for a long beam throw, and constant current circuitry for consistent performance. It has built-in overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit protection and stops drawing power automatically when it is fully recharged. Runtimes range up to 46 hours. There's an indicator light that lets you know how much battery power you have left, and a lockout mode to prevent the light form being accidentally turned on in your pocket or bag.

So much power in such a little package. So light you might forget it is in your pocket. Wish it had red light, but like the option to go to momentary turbo.

You have to read the instructions about the lockout system. Since it's meant for keeping in your pocket, there is a system where you can lock the power button, so it doesn't activate from pressure when you lean on something, Also, the LED light in higher setting can possibly burn you - or items in pocket, when it shines directly onto them, so it's important to lock. Once you get to know how, it just takes a second.

I would just suggest about the instruction sheet - it has very small letters - as with many items from China, I'm not sure why. Do they
have better eyesight in China, or are they just trying to save on paper?! With all due respect, a little larger letters would be easier.

This is a tiny flashlight. It is also incredibly light. It weighs almost nothing. It puts out quite a bit of light for how tiny it is. The USB-C charging works well and you can have the light on while it's charging which is quite useful. The lower modes, 1-200 lumens, will all stay on as long as the battery lasts but the 500 lumen mode requires holding the button the whole time. If you have the light on already and push the mode button down it will go to 500 lumens and when you release it will go back to the previous mode that was on.

So this time remaining feature I mentioned. It works great. This would be a wonderful light on your keychain, but also one kept in an emergency place or bug out bag. You don't need to wonder how long you will have light at any setting. When you turn on the light the OLED screen tells you the brightness and then how long, hours and minutes, that the light will stay on before turning off to conserve power. Therefore you can see that 200 lumens will give you 40 minutes but that 15 lumens will give you 6 hours. One lumen up to 60 hours. It always displays hours and minutes. You will never have to guess how long you will have light and of course using a higher brightness means the lower brightness will lose time also. It's very useful.

This flashlight will survive some splashing but nothing more than that. The two buttons make using it pretty easy. I like it and I guess that's all I have to say.

OLED Display is a plus.
Easy to read. USB-C charging port.
The USB cover is awkward and could be better positioned it gets in the way of the charging port.
No other complaints.
