This baseplate by RRS adds just enough area to the EM-1 to improve the grip with the larger lenses such as the Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 or 300mm f4. The base plate fits Arca Swiss camera mounts as well. 5

Not only does this provide an Area Swiss compatible mounting plate, it adds about 1/2" of vertical height and a small bit of weight to the base. It is beautifully shaped with rounded edges unlike inexpensive alternatives. I prefer using this at all times. I must say that I think the vertical plate sold as an L-bracket package is unrealistic in its pricing. But the base plate itself is worth the money. 5

I love to use the Really Right Stuff products. The base plate for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II makes it mounting on a tripod extremely easy. It also gives you peace of mind that is it securely attached to it. 5

Perfect fit. Enhances ergonomics even with the added weight. Better than the grip to me, because the grip makes the e M1 too big (I own the grip as well). Very very pleased with this product. 5
