This 24 x 36" Matthews RoadRags II Scrim Frame has an elastic corded frames easily fold for storing and transporting. A simple flick of the wrist is all that's required to quickly open the frame making it ready for use. By using the different materials (available separately), the photographer/cinematographer/videographer is able to quickly create contrasts, different light ratios, diffusion or block the light.

RoadRags are designed for use under a controlled environment. Wind and/or other weather conditions may cause damage to this product.

Q: 1. Is it collapsible? Can you take it apart and transport as a smaller item?

A: This flag is welded solid out of stainless steel 3/8" tubing and cannot be dismantled. Our RoadRags II kit, PN:350596 contains the portable kit version of this flag.

Q: 2. What is the size of the case when everything is folded up and stowed?

A: The Matthew bag comes in at 20x9x1.5 when fully loaded.

Q: 3. What equipment is best used to hold the flag?

A: A sturdy C-Stand or equivalent will do nicely. You will also need a grip head to attach the flag and might consider having a 40 extension arm as an option. Finally a 15-20lb. sandbag will be needed to keep things from tipping over.

Q: 4. What material is the flag?

A: The material is made of duvetyne.

Q: 5. Whats the length of the collapsed frame?

A: The frame would measure just below 28" long when collapsed.

Q: 6. Whats the difference between the first version and this kit (kitII)

A: ROADRAGS II come in the larger 24"x36" size opposed to 18x24".

Q: 7. Does anyone know the combined weight of the whole kit?

A: The complete kit weighs a little bit over 50LB including the case

Q: 8. Can the fabric be removed temporarily to allow the frame to be used for other applications such as holding gels or diffusion?

A: No, the Matthews Black Flag can not be removed.

Q: 9. Does the case have wheels, and is it available for purchase separately?

A: No wheels or casters available for this case

Q: 10. Does it extend ?

A: No. The following unit is a fixed 24X36 unit.

Great for my business as I travel pretty tight and all my equipment has to be both a good use of space and good quality. This item does both of these things! 5

I'm a traveling DP and I've been meaning to get these for years. I can't believe I waited so long. I purchased some extra frames and flags to fill out the kit for my needs. These are perfect and beat renting flags across the country. Only had them for a few months and seem durable and reliable. 5

I am a videographer in Cleveland and I mostly work by myself. So when I am on a shoot, I'm setting up the audio, the lights, the modifiers and my camera. These are a great, compact solution that fit in my car (and my equipment wagon), easy to set up/take apart and have the Matthews quality we all know and love. If you are looking for a great way to bring flags and nets with you but don't have the space, I highly recommend picking this one up! Oh and I opted for the 24x36 over the 18x24 because I figured I would rather be in a position to have more than enough coverage than have a smaller flag and need it to be larger. 5

These are lovely flags and nets to travel with. Assembles like tent poles. You have to treat them with care, they will not Stan up to the abuse standard grip gear is designed to endure. On the other hand, given their intended purpose, compact and lightweight, they are an excellent solution to the problem of needing standard sized flags but not having the space fir them when traveling. Road tested, but not designed for abuse, 5

There is very little to not like about this system. I use it on nearly every shoot and have added another frame, flag and silk to the kit. It's been about three years and I've had no problems. 5

Innovative product that enables easy setup of trace frame, nets or cutters without all the baggage. Simply clamp the frame to your existing stand and attach the required trace or net in front of the light source. Brilliant! 5
