It causes most water to bead and roll off if there is any incline to the angle at which the filter is held. When dealing with water droplets and splashes, I have found this type of coating sheds most water without my needing to address it at all. When a water droplet does not roll off right away, I just blow on it to shed it without having to take a break to wipe the lens or filter. I do not need to touch the element at all and I'm immediately back to shooting.
