The UHD-DIGISUPER 86 4K Field Lens from Canon is a box-style housed lens for field use. This lens features an astounding 86x zoom range for a 2/3" inch lens (9.3 to 800mm) and a maximum aperture of f/1.7 from 9.3 to 340mm, then ramping to f/4.0 at 800mm. When using the built-in 2x extender, the zoom range becomes 18.6 to 1600mm, with a consistent decrease in the speed of the lens (two stops). The UHD-DIGISUPER 86 exceeds 4K resolution, providing exceptional image quality and maintaining 4K resolution when the 2x extender is engaged.

This Semi Servo version of the UHD DIGISUPER 86 includes a ZDJ-P01 Zoom Demand, an SMJ-E01 Servo Module, an FFP-T61 Focus Demand, and a 36" Flex Cable. The lens is compatible with these and other established Canon servo components. The UHD DIGISUPER 86 also features 16-bit optical rotary encoders to capture the lens data required when shooting with virtual or robotic systems.

Q: 4. Is this cable required to control both zoom and focus via bmd zoom/focus demand on an ursa g2 with a canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4?

A: No, the ikan Stratus Lens Control Y-Cable for Canon Cinema CN-E Servo Lenses is not necessary for controlling the Canon CN-E 70-200mm T4.4 Compact-Servo Cine Zoom Lens (EF Mount) on the Blackmagic Design URSA Broadcast G2 Camera with the Blackmagic Design Zoom or Focus Demand when mounted via an EF mount. The lens will receive communication directly from the camera and the zoom and focus controls will connect directly to the camera.

Q: 5. Now is it properly communicate with BMD Ursa Broadcast G2???

A: The lens will connect and work with the URSA G2. However, At this moment Black Magic does not have a tested lens list for the URSA Broadcast. You may not be able to control the lens Zoom and focus using the Black Magic servo demand controls.

A: A y cable is needed to control focus and zoom together, such as the FPD-400D and ZSD-300D.

Q: 9. Does this work with the VariZoom VZPGC20 and the IDX System Technology FR-C10 Manual Focus Remote Controller for Canon 20-Pin Lens Together?

A: Yes, the Y-cable features two female controller 20-pin connectors on one end and a single, right-angle male lens servo 20-pin connector on the other end. The VariZoom VariZoom VZPGC20 and IDX System Technology FR-C10 Manual Focus Remote Controller use the 20-pin connection as well.

Q: 10. Im building a studio, is this a good lens for mid-long distance indoor use and what mount does this use

A: This is a 2/3" Box Style Lens with a 90x zoom range, that is one of if not the longest zoom ranges available for a lens like this. I am sure it will work well in a studio, but this is the kind of lens you would see more for an outdoor sporting event thanks to its very long telephoto range.

This was exactly what we needed to get our camera back functioning for our online services!

Yes it's an expensive cable, but for us it's worth it since it allows us to use the Canon ZSD-300D and FPD-400D demands on our CN-E 18-80mm and 70-200mm cine servo lenses. This combo gives us a (relatively) affordable broadcast style setup with large sensor cameras like the Blackmagic Pockets and URSAs.

Note that you may need to supply 12v power to these lenses to enable focus control, but it depends on the camera. I found that it works fine without additional power on our Pocket 6K Pro and URSA Broadcast G2 with the native EF mount, but on the Pocket 4K with an EF-MFT adaptor it needed the 12v for the focus to work.
