The black B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Low Sensitivity, with Detachable 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony Audio Recorders from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to a Sony PCM-M10 or PCM-D50 audio recorder (audio on left and right channels).

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this come in beige?

A: No, the Sony ECM-V1BMP is only available in black. We do offer other lavalier microphones in beige finish for Sony UWP transmitters such as the Microphone Madness MM-PSM-L Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone for Select Sony Systems (B&H # MIPSMLSFBE) and Countryman B3 Omni Lavalier Mic, Standard Sens, with 3.5mm Locking Connector for Sony Wireless Transmitters (B&H # COB3W4LSN).

Q: 2. Will this work with Bubblebee Industries Lav Concealer for Sony ECM-77?

A: The dimensions of the capsule ECM-77 are different than the ECM-V1BMP. Based on this, they seem incompatible.

Q: 3. I would like to know about this connector, does that microphone come with 4-pin connector or just cable and microphone?

A: Hi Fabio, This version features a 4-pin Hirose connection. Regards, Erin

Q: 4. If you had to do it again, would you still buy this over the cos-11d?

A: The Sony ECM-77 Miniature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking Sony 3.5mm Connector and Sanken COS-11D Lavalier Microphone are both high-quality, professional microphone choices. Selection between the two is mostly a matter of personal preference but can also be influenced by application, continuity, and compatibility.

Q: 5. Will this mic work on a pc?

A: No.

Q: 6. Will this mic work with Sony ECM-AW4 wireless mic?

A: This mic will work with the SONY transmitter.

Q: 7. I have a wireless lavalier mic system. The microphone is model sony emc77BMP and the receiver is sony wrt 805.It is not working well, since it catches a lot of interference when recording on longer distances that 30cm, and especially in the city, and as such the wireless part of the system is practically useless for me, but the lavalier mic is very good, and I want to connect it directly to my field-recorder a Tascam DR-40. The input in the recorder is XLR, while the lavalier has a jack (male). I need an adaptor from jack to XLR, and I am wondering about 2 things:1) The adaptor should be a jack (female) to a XLR (male), but is anything else needed, like a converter of electric tension between the lavalier and the field-recorder, or does the lavalier connect directly to the field-recorder?2) The field-recorder offers different settings for recording. One option is to record directly, and one option is to record using phantom-power. Which option should I use when connecting the lavalier directly to the field-recorder via an adaptor (omitting the wireless receiver and emitter system)?

A: The lav can plug directly into the DR 40. All you will need is a 3.5mm to XLR adapter and phantom power from the recorder. Then you can plug the lav directly into the XLR mic input on bottom of the DR 40. B&H # QUQAD2 see below.

Q: 8. Hello, Is this mic compatible with the UWP-D21 system?

A: Yes, the Sony ECM-77 Miniature Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone with Locking Sony 3.5mm Connector is compatible for use with the Sony UWP-D21 wireless system.

Q: 9. Will this mic work with the older Sony UTX-B2 transmitter?

A: The Sony ECM-77BMP features the 1/8 locking connector that would be compatible with the input jack on the UTX-B2 transmitter.

Q: 10. Would this work on the Tentacle Track E?

A: The Sony ECM-77 lavalier mic is made for compatibility with Sony UWP transmitters. You would want to use something more like Voice Technologies VT500ECO [BH #VOVT0651] or the Sennheiser ME-2-II [BH #SEME2II] for compatibility with the TentacleSync Track E.
